The elegant Paris Cafe brought the timeless class of Paris to New York City’s seaport.
The Paris Cafe first opened in 1873 in The Big Apple’s notorious harbor port. The venue showcased a chic and intimate evening with its lightly-dimmed dining, complete with classical paintings, dark-wooden carvings and cozy booth seating. We were met with servers dressed in sleek all-black outfits with corseted tops, leather pants and platforms, who were all smiles while offering Espresso Martinis and Casa Cosmos as we entered. The specialty drinks menu featured cocktails through the decades – The 1873’s Classic Sazerac to The 1943’s Daiquiri to The 2003’s Casa Cosmo.
The venue celebrated its longevity as gold and black balloons donned the arched windows that overlooked the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Guests mingled and enjoyed d’oeuvres while marveling at the mobile cigar setup that featured Cuban cigars for guests to take home. During the night’s festivities, showgirls walked out in bedazzled outfits and purple feather boas, as they danced amongst the guests and transported us all to old-school Paris.
Thomas Edison, Teddy Roosevelt, Lauren Bacall, Annie Oakley to Buffalo Bill Cody, Butch Cassidy, Jimmy Hoffa and the Sundance Kid have all been previous guests at the fabulous venue.
