At Industry City in Brooklyn, DogfishHead celebrated National Dog Day by bringing New Yorkers and their four-legged companions together for its inaugural Dog & Owner Lookalike Contest. The evening was filled with personality, playful competition and plenty of off-centered fun.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Outkast legend Big Boi joined Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione and New York pup-fluencer Lumi as celebrity judges, helping determine which human and hound duo had the most uncanny resemblance and showmanship.
A conversation with Calagione highlighted his excitement for bringing dog lovers together. For him, the event was about more than a contest; it was an opportunity to celebrate fur family members and the joy they bring into people’s lives.
Another highlight was a rapid-fire conversation with Big Boi, who brought his signature cool energy to the evening. The conversation touched on Atlanta and Stankonia Studios, with Big Boi sharing that the legendary studio is still “cranking out” hits and extending an invitation to stop by whenever Atlanta is on the itinerary.
Waggies by Maggie & Friends, Priority Bicycles & Xtracycles and BARK supported the celebration through treats, toys and a charitable cargo bike raffle.
