Set against the backdrop of the fight game, Fightland follows Duke Kilroy, a former boxing champion who returns home after spending eight years in a U.S. prison for a crime he did not commit. Looking to reclaim his life and seek justice against the person responsible for setting him up, Kilroy finds himself pulled into a dangerous world where personal relationships and professional rivalries collide.
Executive producer 50 Cent was among the biggest names on the red carpet, sharing his approach to finding stories that connect with audiences. Known for his work on successful STARZ franchises including Power, as well as projects like For Life, 50 Cent explained that his creative process often comes down to recognizing when a story feels timely and impactful.
“I think when you really love a story, you eventually start to identify with where it fits right now,” said 50 Cent. “I’ll read something and feel like it should be on television now. When I get that feeling, it moves to the front of the other things I have sitting there.”
Howard Charles, who leads the series as Duke Kilroy, reflected on the long process of bringing the story to life and the excitement of finally sharing it with viewers. After spending months building the world and developing the characters, Charles said the premiere represented a major milestone for the entire team.
“I’m excited to be here,” Charles said. “We spent so long crafting this story and spending time in this world, and now we finally get to share it with everyone. It’s ready, it’s yours now, and I hope everyone enjoys it.”
The red carpet highlighted the anticipation surrounding Fightland and the dedication behind bringing its gritty boxing drama to the screen. With a strong creative team, an engaging revenge storyline, and a talented ensemble cast, the series aims to deliver more than traditional sports drama by focusing on the emotional battles that happen both inside and outside the ring.
