Atlantic Records held a one-of-a-kind pop-up event to celebrate Tayla Parx’s debut album “We Need To Talk”.
The event took place at House of Yes in Brooklyn and was sponsored by Reebok and Lyft.
Tayla Parx is the first female songwriter to have three simultaneous top 10 songs in the Billboard Hot 100 since 2014. The songs that made the Hot 100 include Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” and “thank u, next” and Panic At The Disco’s “High Hopes”. Tayla is credited for writing six songs on Ariana Grande’s new album thank u, next and was a nominee at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards for her contributions on Janelle Monae’s Dirty Computer, which was nominated for album of the year. Tayla’s debut album We Need To Talk is able to display her voice on an array of pop based beats and her great writing skills. Her debut album is able to put her talents on the radar as an artist instead of just as a writer.
The pop-up event consisted of different installations and photo booth opportunities as well as a performance by Tayla. Reebok had an installation that gave attendees of the pop-up an opportunity to win Reebok Classics. There were also digital illustrators doing sketches of people in attendance with Tayla Parx’s album theming behind them in the sketches. Attendees also had the opportunity to put themselves on Tayla’s “We Need To Talk” album cover through a photo booth that resembled her album. Tayla Parx performed a few songs off her album “Me vs. Us”, “Rebound” and her title track “We Need To Talk”. After her performance Tayla spent time with the crowd and thanked them for supporting her music and attending the event.
