On Thursday night, G-Shock invited us to celebrate the new G-Shock x Johnny Cupcakes watch release in SoHo.
The launch was held on the second floor of the store and included a pop-up Johnny Cupcakes stand featuring their signature cupcakes, a mini bar with beers and crafted cocktails, and live music. Guests included G-Shock aficionados, fashion tastemakers, and young trendsetters.
The limited edition timepiece takes the form of one of the company’s most popular models, the GDX6900, and transforms it into a colorful, playful artwork with highly functional features. The design of the watch itself is modeled after Johnny’s signature cupcake, decorated with sprinkles and embossed with a pink skull. Although created with a lighthearted approach, the GDX6900JC-3 is water resistant and immune to physical elements in addition to sporting an LED, flash alerts, and 10 year battery.
