Beware: Tomorrowland is soon upon us

The mother of all festivals, Tomorrowland, is exactly one month away. And we can already start to fill the excitement around this incredible festival.

From the 19th of July until the 28th, music lovers will experience what will be one of the best times of their lives. The city of Antwerp located in Belgium will be the home for yet another year of the most epic electronic music festivals of our times.

Its Growth

Tomorrowland went from being a one-day festival to a 6-day festival in the course of 14 years. It had its first edition back in August, 2005 and even though it invited big names from the get go, such as Armin Van Buuren, it did not see nearly the amount of visitors it does today. Tomorrowland has been able to position itself as one of the most (if not the most) influential festivals in the whole world, gathering almost half a million attendees last year. Tomorrowland has been able to transcend the niche of electronic music and appeal to a broader group of people, regardless of age or music preference. Why? Because not only does it provide the audience with mind-blowing stages and incredibly talent , but also an ecstatic environment and welcoming community, coming together through the course of each day of the festival.

Tomorrowland is a special place

Every time I have talked to a Tomorrowland attendee, they have all said the same: “It’s a feeling I can’t explain.” This festival, I visualize as being a playground for adults. A place where you can forget about your problems for a few hours and blend with the music, connect with people from all over the world, and just let yourself go and be blissful. The energy becomes so magnetic because everyone there has the same purpose as you: to have the best time. It is a prime place to meet people who are like-minded, some have even made friends for life.

The Best Talent & Stages

Tomorrowland is known for the mouth-opening talent they bring, and each year it just seems to get better. If you, like me, are a person who loves electronic music, then you will recognize almost every name in their line-up.  One of my favorites for this year is Eric Prydz, who will be bringing his HOLO (holographic) performances to the Tomorrowland stages on both Fridays of the festival. That alone is epic enough to attend the festival. I normally attach pictures of the posters with the artists to better inform you, but Tomorrowland’s list is so extensive I’ll let you see for yourself. Add on every performer, and you really just can’t top it off. Mix the talented and recognized DJs to the mind-blowing stages, which are elaborated with immense creativity and thought, designed to impress the crowd, and you have the perfect formula to have a performance that will know it out of the park.

The fusion between the perplexing set-ups, the mouth-watering line-up and the heart-warming atmosphere Tomorrowland brings is what makes this festival so desirable. So much so that tickets sell out in just minutes. Tomorrowland is the kind of festival you must attend at least once in your life, and your experience will be one you’ll be telling everyone about.

If you were not lucky enough to get your tickets this year, do not worry. It does not seem like Tomorrowland is going anywhere (thankfully)!  I do, however, encourage you to plan ahead of time for next year. Be informed of when the tickets will be available to buy, arrange your sleeping situation (camping  as a recommendation of everyone who has done it), and save up! Be aware of how much everything will cost: ticket, flight, food, sleeping accommodation, lockers, transportation. Shower yourself with information so you are prepared and set yourself up to have the best time of your life.  For more information be sure to check out their official page.
