The Harlem Globetrotters marked their 90th anniversary in sporty fashion –literally –with the help of designer and entrepreneur Angela Simmons at KIA STYLE360.
Here’s the thing, I’m not a fan of sports, so mention of the world renowned Harlem Globetrotters doesn’t really spark my interest. I’m also not a fan of Angela Simmons’ style, but I do like her drive and her entrepreneurial spirit, so that alone is enough to peak my interest in her latest and possibly most career defining moment as a fashion designer: Angela Simmons presents Foofi and Harlem Globetrotters 90th Anniversary Collection.
fAngela unveiled her new collection during the KIA Style360 showcase during New York Fashion Week to notable attendees such as; Mack Wilds, Bridget Kelly, Jenelle Evans, Justine Skye, Mo’ne Davis, Ty Hunter, Diggy Simmons Lennox Lewis, Kat Solar, Elizabeth Pipko, Hill Harper.
As a sports fan, Angela captured the essence of the Globetrotters staying true to the sporty yet fun and glitzy style of their uniform and performance. Even Globetrotters members like Christon Staples, Corey Law and Brawley Chisholm walked the runway showing off their new redesigned uniforms, which, in true Harlem Globetrotters fashion featured lots of red, white and blue, with a little something extra.
KIA STYLE360 was presented by KIA, Not Your Mothers, Autotrader, Sperry, Compeed, US Weekly, Row NYC LimeLight by Alcone, MustaeV and was created by David Manning’s A-List Communications LLC.
