Forget the summer heat forecast—fall has officially arrived at Disneyland Resort. This year, the season brings two distinctly different celebrations together, with Halloween Time taking over the resort through Oct. 31 and Plaza de la Familia honoring the traditions and spirit of Día de los Muertos through Nov. 2.
Together, the celebrations offer families a chance to experience the playful, spooky side of fall alongside a colorful tribute to Mexican culture and the importance of remembering loved ones.
At Disneyland, Halloween Time returns with familiar favorites and some new additions for 2026, including all-new Halloween looks for Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends. The characters are dressed in whimsical new outfits featuring harlequin-inspired motifs, frilled collars and cuffs, and swirling confectionery details.

The seasonal transformation continues throughout the parks with beloved attraction overlays and Halloween entertainment. At Disneyland, Haunted Mansion Holiday returns, bringing Jack Skellington and the residents of Halloween Town into the classic attraction. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the attraction’s showstopping gingerbread creations, celebrated with an all-new gingerbread house designed as a delightfully monstrous music box.

Over at Disney California Adventure, guests can get into the Halloween spirit with returning favorites including Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. Families can also catch the daytime Mickey’s Trick and Treat show, while Halloween Screams lights up the night at Disneyland with fireworks on select evenings.
But alongside the ghosts, pumpkins and Disney villains is a celebration with a different purpose.
At Disney California Adventure, Plaza de la Familia returns with a celebration inspired by Día de los Muertos, a tradition centered around remembering and honoring loved ones who have passed.
The experience brings the spirit of the holiday to life through festive décor, live entertainment and Mexican-inspired cuisine. Rather than focusing on the spooky elements associated with Halloween, Plaza de la Familia offers a colorful and heartfelt celebration of family, remembrance and togetherness.

The Coco-inspired experience adds another dimension to Disneyland Resort’s fall festivities, particularly for families looking to experience something beyond the traditional Halloween attractions.
