You’ve heard of doubles and tennis, but how about Dobel and tennis?
Dobel Tequila hosted a night of cocktail sipping and paddle ball with American tennis superstar Taylor Fritz at Padel Haus Greenpoint in Brooklyn on , Aug. 24.

The evening kicked off with a toast from the guest of honor. The tennis star raised his glass, which was filled with his namesake margarita “Fritzy Spicy,” and wished guests a fun evening, thanked Dobel and cheers’ed to the start of the US Open.

Guests, including yours truly, were treated to a complimentary game of paddle ball on the Padel Haus courts. Then Fritz made an appearance on his cousinsport’s court for a photoshoot.

Afterwards (and beforehand) we indulged in aprés-paddleball with two signature Dobel Tequila drinks.
First, Fritz’s eponymous drink “Fritzy Spicy”: 2 oz Dobel Diamante Cristalino Tequila, 1 oz Lime Juice, 0.75 Agave Nectar, 1 or 2 jalapeños, Garnish: Jalañeno Slice and Black Lava Salt, Served on the Rocks.
Then, the “Ace Paloma”: 2 oz Dobel Diamante Cristalino Tequila, 0.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice, 4.0 oz. Owen’s Rio Red Grapefruit soda, Garnish: Black Lava Salt & Grapefruit Wedge.

Fritz couldn’t imbibe too much of the tennis themed drinks, considering he has a busy work schedule ahead of himself. Fritz is currently playing in the most vaunted tennis tournament in the western hemisphere. Watch the margarita swilling star and others at the US Open until Sept. 14.
