On The Scene: Angela Simmons Presents Womenswear Line at NYFW

by Chantell Hayden September 18, 2018
written by Chantell Hayden

On Wednesday, Style 360 hosted their annual fashion showcase during NYFW. Style 360 has hosted several events over the years and are known for being one of the prime spots for NYFW shows and festivities, as they bring designers, brands, models, celebrities, artists and media together each season to network and celebrate fashion and style.

Along with providing venues for dazzling events and for designers to display their work, they have collaborated with many celebrities and entertainers in the past and this season they partnered with Angela Simmons to debut the launch of her new clothing line Bonnie Bouche.

Bonnie Bouche is a women’s clothing line by designer, philanthropist, actor and producer Angela Simmons. Angela first came in to the spotlight as the daughter of legendary rapper, DJ Run from 80’s Hip-Hop group RUN-DMC. Angela has always had a passion for apparel, successfully launching her first footwear line Pastry Footwear alongside her sister Vanessa Simmons in 2007.

Her fashion ventures did not stop there and she has been dedicated to feeding her creative interest in fashion. Since then, she has created a faux-fur line Foofi & Bella as well as collaborated with VIPE Activewear on an active wear line for women. With Bonnie Bouche, Angela says she this new line focuses on millennials and young adults as she believes it represents “power, femininity and inclusiveness.”

Bonnie Bouche is a collection of more than 20 pieces, all vibrant in color and interwoven with funky shapes. The line is very relaxed yet playful, and even has a COOGI Sport-inspired colorway that drops this fall in collaboration with COOGI at Lady Footlocker. It is safe to say that this won’t be the last venture for Angela in the fashion industry as she continues to grow as a designer and a businesswoman.

Look out for more Bonnie Bouche this fall exclusively at Lady Footlocker, and in the meantime you can follow the Bonnie Bouche brand on social media: @bonniebouchebrand.

On the Scene: Angela Simmons’ Style360 Presentation

by Sade Graham September 13, 2014
written by Sade Graham

This season Style360 celebrated its tenth anniversary. TheKnockturnal.com was invited the cover the event, which came to an end on Sept. 11.

Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and fashionista herself, Angela Simmons took part angelain this 2014 season of NYFW to showcase 3 up-and-coming designers in her Style 360 fashion show Angela Simmons Presents “Back to Basics.”

The star-studded event drew quite the crowd over to Manhattan’s West Side, where the daughter of legendary Hip Hop pioneer Reverend Run, presented the 2015 Spring/Summer collections for independent designers: Muehleder, Smith II, and Big Park. Each designer provided their own flare of chic and fabulous with basics such as tops, skirts, pants, dresses and jackets; bold colors, prints, leather, and zippers, all of which will all be sold on Angela’s e-commerce site, AngelaIAM.com.

The show opened with 3 ballerinas and a violinist whom took their marks on the runway prior to the first model, and closed with big sister Vanessa and new baby in tote – super cute. Celebrity guests included: Tyson Beckford, Erica Campbell of Mary Mary, Atlanta Exes: Monyetta Shaw and Tameka Raymond, and Ariane Davis of Love & Hip Hop; not to mention, her famous family sitting front row in support of it all.

Dressed in a black and white Big Park jacket with some shorts and thigh high boots, Angela was gracious enough to share a few words on this season’s presentation, “I’m really big on giving independent designers a platform that they can use. After seeking these three designers out, I just put on a show, putting them all in one and then BOOM!” She also went on to disclose a little bit about her own up-and- coming endeavor of creating her own line, which is in the works now, so look out.

A-List Communications produced Style360. Sponsors supporting this season included Cointreau, L’Alpina Water, Hello naturally friendly oral care, Carefree, Olivia Garden hair care tools, Shimmer Jewelry Tattoos, Beanitos and Scarlet & Gold print shop, NYX Fusions Moscato by Nicki Minaj and Mona Scott-Young, Bottega Rose sparkling. All fashion shows were styled with Not Your Mother’s hair care products by lead stylist Michele Carrillo. James Vincent was the makeup artist with the official makeup partners, Mehron Cosmetics and Alcone Company. STYLE360’s official hotel partner was the Row NYC.
