New Music Roundup: Releases You May Have Missed

We rounded up some of our favorite releases of last month to help you build the soundtrack of your summer. Our first roundup of June includes a diverse mix of tunes, including new releases from Rob Tirea, Avalon Kane, Monkey Safari, Big Gigantic, Keinemusik, HUMS, and many more.

ROB TIREA – THERE YOU ARE

Los Angeles genre-bender Rob Tirea delivers another introspective journey with “There You Are,” the second single from his upcoming ‘Universal Jest’ EP that continues exploring life’s beautiful contradictions. Opening with somber, haunting vocals that gradually build into an expansive melodic explosion before diving into dynamic rhythms, the track perfectly embodies what Tirea calls “the paradox of feeling both bewildered and oddly comforted at the realization that we are all part of this cosmic comedy.” His distinctive blend of Alternative Dance, Rock, and Indie Pop creates compelling tension between the track’s energetic production and vulnerable lyricism, following his previous description of the EP as “a soundtrack to life being both beautiful and equally absurd—a straight-up punch to the gut, wrapped in a smile.” The upcoming collection will be accompanied by a special live performance video featuring string duo Nicole Garcia and Michelle Rearick from Fine Line Music Service, filmed by visual artist Jackie Catechis in a Downtown LA studio space. As Tirea continues developing his sonic fingerprint through bold experimentation, “There You Are” signals artistic maturation from a producer unafraid to challenge genre conventions while maintaining raw authenticity that proves electronic music can be both intellectually stimulating and viscerally moving.

MONKEY SAFARI – OASIS [THE MOMENT]

Monkey Safari brings their sun-soaked melodic prowess to WhoMadeWho’s The Moment imprint with “Oasis,” a track that perfectly captures the label’s wonderfully whimsical ethos. Brothers Sven and Lars craft an enchanting journey that begins with organic percussion and hypnotic drum patterns before a Middle Eastern-inspired wind instrument takes center stage with an absolutely magnetic melody. The track’s title becomes crystal clear as this exotic riff fills the arrangement with invigorating energy, weaving through delays and echoes while additional live-sounding drums build toward a powerful breakdown. As the duo transitions from their long-running Hommage label to their new “Good Vibes from Paradise” project, this release doubles as an exciting new chapter for the pair known for “bringing sunshine vibes, even when the rain is pouring down.” With over two decades of crafting their distinctive melodic sound and collaborations with legends like Moby, Carl Cox, and RÜFÜS DU SOL under their belt, Monkey Safari proves once again why their infectious grooves have captured the attention of tastemakers like John Digweed and Kölsch. “Oasis” delivers exactly what its title promises: a sonic refuge that will leave your body tingling with positive vibrations.

AVALON KANE – THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS ME IS ME

Adelaide electronic experimentalist Avalon Kane takes a sharp left turn into darker territory with “The Only One Who Knows Me Is Me,” the first taste of her forthcoming album Dissension. Where her acclaimed 2024 LP Solace explored transcendental calm and introspective beauty, her pulsating new cut dives headfirst into chaos, a visceral realm where Kane’s synthesizer manipulations and haunting vocals create something both unsettling and mesmerizing. “The only one who truly knows what goes on in my head and my heart is me,” Kane reflects, capturing the track’s bold declaration of self-knowledge amid the storm. Driving percussion and modulated synth work establish the more confrontational sonic palette that will define Dissension, completing an ambitious double album vision that spans the full spectrum of human emotion. The single arrives with a boundary-pushing visual directed by award-winning filmmaker Conor Mercury, featuring Kane transformed into a witch-like entity through custom special effects—a physical manifestation of the album’s exploration of darkness. Her creative partnership with fellow Kaurna Country artist Stu Patterson continues flourishing on Dissension, further developing the dynamic sonic language they established on Solace. As Kane prepares to unite both albums in a meticulously crafted double vinyl release this summer, she cements her position as one of Australia’s most fearless electronic artists, unafraid to explore both the soothing and disturbing corners of human experience.

STAR MONSTER – ‘ENTER THE CRUNCHYVERSE’ MIXTAPE

Rising bass wizard Star Monster delivers his mind-bending “Enter The Crunchiverse” mixtape, a therapeutic escape that weaves between skull-rattling bass sequences and moments of profound emotional release. “I wanted to create something with my favorite vocals and super crunchy sound design to deliver a heavy, fun-to-dance-to party experience, while still creating moments of deep emotional release,” Star Monster explains. The mixtape serves as both a portal and a showcase, featuring exclusive flips that have become crowd favorites during his recent sold-out performances alongside selections from his forthcoming “Fresh Reality Paths” EP. Known for masterfully blending bouncy hip-hop mashups, heavy psychedelic dubstep, and otherworldly downtempo, the producer has been building a devoted following through his introspective themes and metaphysical production approach. Coming off standout 2024 performances supporting Deathpact at a sold-out Halloween show in Area 51 Las Vegas and headlining spots at Toxic Summer and Stilldream Festivals, Star Monster continues proving that bass music can be both consciousness-expanding and dancefloor-destroying. As he puts it, the mixtape aims to “give listeners a portal to leave reality and journey deep into the catharsis of dance and movement while healing some of the real-life heartache and day-to-day trauma we go through,” a perfect balance of introspection and pure, unadulterated euphoria.

RÖYKSOPP – SORDID AFFAIR (NOTRE DAME REMIX) [DOG TRIUMPH]

French electronic visionary Notre Dame puts his cinematic spin on Röyksopp‘s haunting “Sordid Affair,” transforming the Norwegian duo’s 2014 classic into a hypnotic dancefloor journey that bridges nostalgic reverence with forward-thinking club sensibilities. The remix arrives as part of Röyksopp’s carefully curated True Electric remix series on Dog Triumph, following DJ Tennis‘s acclaimed take on “What Else Is There” and showcasing some of electronic music’s most exciting contemporary voices. Notre Dame’s signature ability to honor beloved classics while infusing them with his emotive, cinema-inspired production style shines through, maintaining the original’s haunting essence while crafting something entirely his own. The release caps an extraordinary year for the Paris-born producer, who launched his Paranormal Society label with breakthrough single “Do For Your Love” and recently contributed to Lenny Kravitz‘s “Let It Ride” remix package alongside Jaime Jones, Kungs, and Solardo. With his French Touch influences melding seamlessly with atmospheric compositions, Notre Dame continues establishing himself as a distinctive voice capable of resonating across intimate dancefloors and grand festival stages. This remix perfectly encapsulates his growing reputation as a go-to artist for high-profile reworks, proving once again why industry titans like Keinemusik, Adriatique, and RÜFÜS DU SOL have embraced his unique sonic vision.

HUMS – FRACTURES [MOOD INTL]

Finnish producer HUMS makes his debut on Mild Mind‘s MOODS INTL. imprint with “Fractures,” an ethereal piece of atmospheric electronica that showcases exactly why the GRAMMY-nominated founder was drawn to his sound. Helsinki-based Elias Durac, the man behind HUMS, crafts something beautifully difficult to pigeonhole – blending UK garage, darker electronica, and melancholy house with organic textures and intimate voice recordings sampled from his phone. “I really concentrated on the drums,” Durac explains about the track. “I wanted something static and electronic like a drum machine layered with organic elements.” The result feels both spontaneous and deeply personal, born from a prolific 2022 period where he processed personal challenges by composing an entire collection in just one week. For David, who launched MOODS INTL. following his sophomore album ‘GEMINI‘ and tenure with ODESZA‘s Foreign Family Collective, HUMS represents the perfect inaugural external signing. “His sound felt like exactly what I was listening to, something that is hard to pigeonhole but carries influence from a range of genres,” David shares. As MOODS INTL. continues taking shape with both debut acts and familiar names lined up, “Fractures” marks the beginning of what promises to be a swift stream of releases from an artist whose sound healing emerges from pure necessity and self-expression.

BIG GIGANTIC – MOVE AROUND / FREE SPIRITS (FT. ALIGN)

Colorado’s genre-blurring duo Big Gigantic kicks off their upcoming FLUORESCENCE album era with a double-shot of pure festival gold. “Move Around” delivers exactly what its title promises—a horn-driven, New Orleans bounce-inspired stomper where Dominic Lalli’s punchy sax lines weave through rubbery bass and Jeremy Salken’s crisp drums, creating an infectious invitation to get loose on the dancefloor. The flip side, “Free Spirits” featuring ALIGN, soars into future-funk territory with lush synth pads, chopped vocal hooks, and Big G’s trademark live instrumentation for a hands-in-the-air anthem. “I’ve always been a huge fan of Big Gigantic’s music,” shares ALIGN, who was inspired to collaborate after opening for them at Red Rocks. “After their set, I had started a hip hop/funk beat idea that felt like a perfect fit for their signature sounds.” The duo describes this new creative phase as “all fun, light and positivity—a celebration of the boundless energy that makes dance music and festival culture feel so alive.” With Bonnaroo performances coming up (including a debut at the new 360-degree Infinity Stage) and their flagship Rowdytown event returning to Red Rocks for its 13th edition in September, Big Gigantic continues proving why they’ve become a cornerstone of the US live electronic scene, bridging jazz, funk, hip-hop, and bass music into something uniquely their own.

KEINEMUSIK x BOYS NOIZE – CRAZY FOR IT FT. VINSON

Keinemusik joins forces with electronic alchemist Boys Noize and multimedia artist Vinson for “Crazy For It,” a track that feels less like a collaboration and more like a sonic ritual. Conjured partially in Berlin and partially within the mystical walls of Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, this haunting convergence first descended upon audiences beneath the ancient skies of Egypt during Keinemusik’s legendary set at the foot of the Pyramids of Giza. The track then made its live debut at Coachella 2025 with Vinson on stage, instantly becoming an anthem that echoed across the desert like a sonic mirage. Now fully manifested, “Crazy For It” showcases the perfect alchemy between Keinemusik’s boundary-pushing house and techno, Boys Noize’s intimate sonic architecture, and Vinson’s soul-stirring voice that exists where the sacred and sensual converge. For Boys Noize (Alex Ridha), whose collaborations span from A$AP Rocky and Lady Gaga to film scores with Trent Reznor, this marks another portal into his ever-expanding world of genre-defying artistry. Meanwhile, Vinson, whose multimedia practice spans dance, voice, and visual art with collaborators like Anne Imhof and Mario Sorrenti, brings his transformative vision to electronic music.

TOKYO MACHINE – ‘FACTORY RESET’ EP [MONSTERCAT]

After years shrouded in total anonymity, masked producer Tokyo Machine finally pulls back the curtain with his long-awaited “FACTORY RESET” EP on Monstercat—and for the first time ever, reveals his voice to the world. The five-track collection feels like a sonic rebirth, designed as what he calls “a wall of sound smacking you in the face” that captures the chaos and energy of his live shows. Opening with the appropriately titled “THE FURIOUS,” the EP blasts through chaotic vocal chops and digitized dubstep before morphing into glitchy bass house, while tracks like “MVP” detonate laser-like synths into bone-rattling drops and “SCREW UR FACE UP” delivers moshpit-ready mayhem engineered to punch listeners straight in the gut. “While touring with Virtual Riot, I would play out IDs constantly to get audience reactions and feedback,” Tokyo Machine explains. “I wanted ‘FACTORY RESET’ to feel like a live show in your headphones.” Currently storming across the US on his debut CHOMPO Tour, selling out venues in Seattle, San Francisco, Denver, and Las Vegas, the producer is proving his genre-defying vision translates perfectly from headphones to dancefloors. The accompanying visuals, featuring Tokyo Machine as a half-human, half-cybernetic entity mid-transformation in a neon-lit dystopian lab, perfectly capture this creative rebirth that encourages artists to challenge convention while delivering the pure adrenaline rush that only revolutionary bass music can provide.
