The art of creating an artisanal spirit like Del Maguey Mezcal has many parallels to the creation of any song.
It requires a blending of so many different forces and factors to create something magical. Last week, Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal brought that connection to life at National Sawdust in Williamsburg for the latest installment of their Single Village Music Series.
The series is built around the idea of intimate gatherings with innovators and creators which aim to blend culture, music, and single-village mezcal into one room. With past editions of the Single Village Music Series having featured heavy hitters like Silvana Estrada and iLe, this showcase felt particularly special. The night featured the incredible breakout Dominican-Italian artist YEИDRY ahead of her long-awaited debut album, Como Agua.

Taking the stage alongside Dominican-American actress and comedian Sasha Merci, YEИDRY sat down for a candid conversation exploring identity, memory, and the creative transformation behind the new album and distinct tracks such as her hit song, “Nena.” Between sips of Del Maguey’s signature smoky, agave-forward expressions, the crowd was treated to a performance that showcased her striking, genre-bending vocal beauty and power. Guests were treated to an incredible performance of her hit songs such as “Nena”, “Barrio,” and “Mala Mia.”Paired with the incredible performance, guests were treated to craft cocktails such as the herbal Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal negroni or a bright and smoky Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal margarita.

Once the live performance wrapped, the energy in the room shifted seamlessly into a full-on celebration. DJ duo Dos Flacos took over the decks, bringing their signature high-energy bodega rave sound to keep the crowd dancing late into the night.
By the end of the event, it was clear that the Single Village Music Series is not just another event to promote a brand. This is a series that Del Maguey has created to champion culture, art, and community under one roof. We highly recommend keeping your eyes out for the next installment as it will likely be something you do not want to miss.
