This week, evian celebrated its 200th anniversary at Brooklyn’s DUMBO Archway, bringing its “200 Years Young” campaign to New York just ahead of the US Open.
The evening marked 200 years since the first bottling of its natural spring water in 1826 and 40 years as the tournament’s official water. We joined members of the public, media, and special guests for the celebration beneath the Manhattan Bridge. evian dressed the party in pink, from the food stands and open bar to the interactive booths. Outside the archway, a pink signpost pointed toward Évian-les-Bains and the US Open. Small booths lined the stone walls and mirrored installations helped transport the archway to the French Alps.

Inside, projections of the French Alps stretched across the ceiling and walls. Snow covered peaks, moving water, and pink and blue graphics transformed the stone surfaces. A separate anniversary projection took us through evian’s history, tracing the brand’s journey from its earliest bottling to the present. The Alpine imagery referenced its source in Évian-les-Bains, where rain and snow naturally filter through glacial rock for more than 15 years before emerging at the Cachat spring.

Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe joined the evening alongside Jeff Koons, Daniel Boulud, Caro Daur, and Mia Moretti. Koons also had a visible presence on the bottles. For the anniversary, the artist collaborated with evian on two limited-edition glass designs featuring imagery inspired by his Balloon Dog sculpture. Pink identifies the still water, while blue identifies sparkling. Both versions appeared at the event, including on shelves behind the bar as part of the display.

Food was served across individual stations throughout the open air space. A radish booth was among the French-inspired offerings, while the pizza stand added a Brooklyn staple. The menu included Brooklyn style pizzas with marinara, mozzarella, and basil topped with caviar and crème fraîche.
The postcard stand was one of the more thoughtful stops, giving guests a small piece of evian’s history to share. Guests could choose a card, write a message, and drop it into an evian pink mailbox to be sent anywhere in the world.
The open bar was another highlight. The Live Young Paloma combined Don Julio Blanco tequila with grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sparkling water, finished with a grapefruit slice. Source in Bloom took a more floral direction, pairing rose petal infused Tanqueray gin with elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, Crémant de Bourgogne, and evian Sparkling. Watermelon Water Break offered a nonalcoholic option, mixing watermelon juice, lime juice, mint syrup, and evian Sparkling, garnished with watermelon and mint. Complimentary still and sparkling evian were available throughout.
Dessert brought the birthday and tennis themes together, with tennis inspired macarons, funfetti cake bites, and pink cotton candy “cloud lollipops.”
A DJ set kept the celebration going throughout the evening, with guests gathering beneath the Alpine projections. The food stands, live music, and birthday sweets gave the event the atmosphere of a summer block party.
