CFDA Partners with LIFEWTR for Fashion Week S/S ’18

On September 7, The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) partnered with LIFEWTR for their Spring/Summer 2018 Presentation at NYFW.

The event which was accompanied by notable actress Katie Holmes, provided continuing support to emerging designers and highlighted their mentorship, skills, and showcases their visionary textiles and designs.

LIFEWTR and CFDA joined forces to take three designers and have them create lively prints for LIFEWTR’s bottles, and have them emulate designs in their fashion week collections.

Adam Dalton Blake, Tiffany Huang, and Ghazaleh Khalifeh were three designers whose collections were featured in the diverse presentation. “LIFEWTR is so great because they are giving a platform to emerging artists and designers. The idea of so many people carrying around my design, which I incorporated  into my first show at Fashion week, is an idea that a recent graduate can only dream of,” says Blake.

Blake presented a statement ready-to-wear collection, inspired by an equality movement. His pieces stood out to endorse  LGBTQ+ equality.  He used bold prints, and vivacious fabrics to create fun elements.

Since recently graduating from the Academy of Art and being trained in Paris, Ghazaleh Khalifeh became inspired by the concept of “co-existing.” She played on “how beautiful and vital the peaceful coexistence of all cultures and race with both natural and man-made environment is.”
For her collection, Khalifeh mixed paisleys and flowers, and stayed true to nature by expressing the beauty in the world through fashion.
Tiffany Haung dominated her prints with yellow and abstract figures. Her Spring 2018 collection “Umbrella Ghosts” is inspired by the Taiwanese superstition that ghosts live inside umbrellas, and opening one while indoors can invite the ghost home. Each look created an alternate reality.
The designers had their looks modeled and their prints  on display, accompanied with a LIFEWTR bottle of their print on it.
