During the exclusive roundtable interviews at New York Comic Con 2024, the cast and executive producers of School Spirits shared heartfelt reflections, behind-the-scenes insights, and personal stories.

The discussions made it clear that the series continues to resonate deeply with audiences, offering a compelling mix of mystery, humor, and heart as it heads into its second season.

Kristian Ventura, Sarah Yarkin, and Nick Pugliese spoke candidly about their favorite real-life school memories, adding humor and nostalgia to the conversations. The show’s creators and executive producers, Nate and Megan Trinrud, along with showrunner Oliver Goldstick (Pretty Little Liars, Bridgerton), provided deeper insights into the creative challenges they faced. They also discussed the impact of the Hollywood strikes on the production schedule, highlighting how it affected both the cast’s workflow and the storytelling for Season 2.

With Season 2 picking up right after the jaw-dropping Season 1 finale, the interviews gave a sneak peek into Maddie Nears’ (Peyton List) next chapter. Maddie remains trapped in the afterlife but now knows the truth about her fate. She must unite her friends—both living and spectral—in a race to reclaim the life that was stolen from her.

The team also teased the arrival of new characters, such as Jess Gabor (Shameless) as Janet Hamilton, Zack Calderon (The Wilds) as Diego Herrera, Miles Elliot (Cooties) as Yuri, and Cihang Ma (Presto! School of Magic) as Quinn. Fan-favorite characters will return as well, including Josh Zuckerman, now a series regular as Mr. Martin, and Maria Dizzia as Maddie’s mother, Sandra Nears. Patrick Gilmore and Ian Tracey also reprise their roles as Mr. Anderson and Sheriff Baxter, respectively.

These roundtable discussions provided an intimate glimpse into the heart and humor behind School Spirits. Whether reminiscing about school memories or navigating Hollywood’s challenges, the cast and creators made it clear that the series continues to strike a chord with fans through its engaging storytelling and emotional depth as it embarks on a new season.
