Leave it to American entrepreneur, hotelier and real estate developer Ian Schrager to throw the party of the century. Last Tuesday night a star studded, A-list crowd gathered at The Times Square Edition for its luxurious and opulent grand opening. Living legends Diana Ross and Nile Rodgers gave a very exclusive private concert to end the night.
The soiree started with a sophisticated candlelit dinner at The Terrace restaurant where guests feasted over a unique dining experience developed by Michelin-starred Chef John Fraser, drinks at the bar followed and a surprise performance by Diana Ross and Nile Rodgers and Chic in the Paradise Club rounded off the already sensational night.

Ian Schrager’s latest partnership with Marriott International, the Times Square Edition boasts an impressive 452 rooms, two restaurants by famed NYC Michelin-starred chef John Fraser and a boundary-pushing nightclub and cabaret theater — all in a 42-story tower right in the middle of New York City’s most tourist-saturated neighborhood.
The undertaking here is huge: make Times Square cool again for the underserved market of affluent, culturally savvy and service-savvy New Yorkers who developed a natural aversion to the always crowded and uber touristy area. But if there’s someone that can do it, that’s exactly Studio 54 co-founder and boutique hotel creator Ian Schrager. And getting Cara Delevingne, Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Suki Waterhouse, Elsa Hosk to attend and Diana Ross to perform is a start (and a pretty good one may we add).
