The Sun Rose West Hollywood is adding two new restaurants to its rooftop — Yuhi, a 12-seat omakase experience, and Oleander, a Pan-Pacific focused restaurant. With 360 degree views of West Hollywood, the hotel hosted a private preview of its two newest dining concepts giving guests a first taste of what’s coming to the rooftop.
The new restaurants offer two very different takes on dining in the same space. While Yuhi is centered around an intimate, chef-driven experience, Oleander is designed as a more relaxed destination for cocktails, shared plates and lingering by the pool.

Throughout the evening, attendees mingled around the rooftop pool while sampling hors d’oeuvres and cocktails from both restaurants. Guests watched the sun set over the Sunset Strip, with panoramic views of West Hollywood stretching across the rooftop.
At Yuhi, the intimate omakase concept centers on a 17-course experience led by Chef Naomi Kubo. Japanese for “evening sun,” the restaurant incorporates traditional Japanese techniques with ingredients selected based on seasonality and the chef’s daily market finds.
Oleander takes a broader approach, drawing inspiration from cultures and cuisines across the Pacific. The menu incorporates influences from destinations including Japan, Peru, Mexico and Hawaii, with seafood, raw-bar offerings, grilled dishes and larger plates intended for sharing.

Drinks were also a major part of the preview, with a Belvedere vodka station serving espresso martinis over ice cream. Caviar bumps added another indulgent touch as guests moved between the food and cocktail offerings.
By later in the evening, the event had shifted from a restaurant preview into more of a party. Guests stayed on the rooftop, dancing to sounds from DJ Nick Corradi as cocktails continued to flow and the city lights replaced the sunset.
With Yuhi and Oleander, The Sun Rose is taking two different approaches to its rooftop — one centered on an intimate omakase experience and the other on casual, social dining. Together, the concepts give guests another reason to spend an evening at the hotel’s rooftop, whether for dinner, drinks or both.
