With the help of Stella Artois, Philadelphia native, Questlove, promoted his vegan cheesesteak recipe and celebrated the anniversary of the The Roots’ founding.

On June 1, Stella Artois hosted their very first “Let’s Do Dinner” Summer Series event in Philadelphia. The event was hosted in the backdrop of the iconic Roots Picnic music festival at The Mann in Fairmount Park.

The sold out festival weekend was headlined by Lil Wayne and Jill Scott. Other notable performers included Nas, Sexyy Red, with surprise guests like Common and A$AP Ferg.

The Roots’ Questlove was present at the festival to promote his iconic Questlove’s Cheesesteak™️ at the first-ever Questlove’s Cheesesteak™️ Diner. The Philadelphia native discussed his work collaborating with Impossible to create a vegan cheesesteak recipe to celebrate his Philly roots, as well as promote food that is good for the environment. The creation of the cheesesteak recipe was inspired by Questlove’s vision for a “better for you, better for the planet future.”

Guests of Stella Artois were invited to dine in a makeshift “diner style” restaurant where they were immediately served upon sitting. Questlove’s curated menu included a vegan cheesesteak made with Impossible, alongside a tangy Kale Picnic Slaw, crispy Shoestring Sweet Potato Fries and ice cold, Stella Artois.

Everyone was also given a stack of Uno cards and fun stickers with the Stella Artois X Questlove’s Cheesesteak branding. The Stella Artois staff also walked around encouraging guests to play board games and other family game night activities making for a fun and nostalgic event.

In a short speech, Questlove shared that on the day of the event, it was the 30th anniversary of the founding of his band, The Roots. He said it was created on a “whim” and that he and the five other members manifested their dreams and formed what is now a well-known and respected musical group.

The spirit of The Roots and Questlove were felt throughout the event, as the decorations within the diner were reminiscent of phases of history in which the band has existed. Attendees also received general admission access to the full festival weekend and all of the performances. Summer is in full swing in Philadelphia and a great time was had by all at the Questlove’s Cheesesteak™️ Diner.

Stella Artois will be hosting pop-up events in other cities throughout the summer, including New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago. Each event will be focused on food and entertainment, all featuring special celebrity guests.

Stella Artois is also giving fans, ages 21 and older, the opportunity to win “1,000+ unique prizes, including VIP access to this summer’s Let’s do Dinner events as well as signed merch from Stella Artois ambassadors.”

To enter for a chance to win and join Stella Artois at one of the other four events this summer, fans can visit www.stellaartois.com/letsdodinner
