Starz’s popular drama series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” has been renewed for an early fifth season.

STARZ has officially announced the renewal of its acclaimed drama series Power Book III: Raising Kanan for a fifth season.

Following the intense conclusion of its third season, the series is currently in production for its fourth installment in New York.

Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ, expressed enthusiasm for the continuation of Raising Kanan, citing the ongoing intrigue surrounding the protagonist’s transformation and the desire to delve deeper into the series’ familial narrative. She also hinted at potential crossovers with other characters from the “Power” universe in this prequel era.

In addition to the renewal news, STARZ revealed plans for a new prequel series titled Origins, exploring the backstory of beloved characters Ghost and Tommy. This marks the fourth spin-off of the immensely popular Power franchise, following Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Power Book IV: Force, and the ongoing success of Raising Kanan.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan follows the early life of Kanan Stark, tracing his journey from adolescence to infamy within the criminal underworld. With its gripping portrayal of 1990s New York, the series delves into the origins of Kanan’s involvement in his family’s drug empire, led by his ruthless mother, Raq Thomas.

Led by creator Sascha Penn, the series features an ensemble cast including MeKai Curtis, Patina Miller, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, and Joey Bada$$. Season three concluded with a dramatic showdown between Kanan and Raq, resulting in unexpected twists and character developments.

As “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” continues to captivate audiences, the upcoming fifth season promises to further explore the complexities of its characters and their interconnected stories. The series is executive produced by Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, and Chris Selak, with Lionsgate Television producing for STARZ.
