This summer’s Polo Hamptons season kicked off with a bang at the Fishel family’s Estate in Bridgehampton this Saturday. Hosted by Christie Brinkley, the annual polo match is the perfect reason to get dressed up, enjoy the breezy Hamptons air away from the heat of the city, and watch a lively game of polo.
We not only got the chance to catch Saturday’s game, we also stopped by the pre-party hosted by Kenneth, Maria, and Bradley Fishel at their home across from the playing field. Some of the family’s close friends, as well as press, enjoyed delectable treats, champagne, and Martini Rossi tonics in anticipation of the match. As 4 pm (official throw-in time for the first chukker) drew near, guests traversed the green to the opposite end of the field, where shaded tables, sponsor displays, and an open bar lay in wait.
Hors d’oeuvres provided by Elegant Affairs, drinks from Tanqueray, Bellissima, Vide, HINT water, and many more peppered the shaded tents for polo spectators to enjoy while catching up with friends old and new, and watching each of the chukkers unfold. Other sponsors of the day’s events included BMW North America, Turks and Caicos Tourism, Dolce & Gabbana, AIREM, Tanqueray, Whispering Angel Rose, Le Barthelemy Hotel & Spa, Social Life Magazine, and Sotheby Realty’s Frank and Dawn Bodenchak. In addition to sponsoring, Dolce & Gabbana boasted a decadent popup truck with garments from their Carretto Collection for guests to peruse.
The teams of talented polo players offered attendees an entertaining match. Between the white and blue teams, men and women of all ages (including a 14-year old!) kept spectators on their feet to catch plays in each of the six 7-and-a-half minute periods, also known as “chukkers”. Polo Hamptons hosts another match this upcoming Saturday, July 31st, so if you want to attend this festive event that captures the essence of summer in the Hamptons, buy your tickets ASAP at polohamptons.com!
