Twenty years after audiences were first introduced to Dexter Morgan, the infamous blood-spatter analyst turned serial killer continues to find new ways to keep viewers hooked. With Dexter: Resurrection returning for its second season, the franchise is opening another chapter filled with dangerous new players, complicated relationships, and plenty of unfinished business.
Led by Michael C. Hall, who once again steps into the iconic role of Dexter Morgan, the Paramount+ series brings together a dynamic ensemble that includes Uma Thurman, Bokeem Woodbine, and a returning cast of familiar faces. As the story expands, the new season introduces audiences to an increasingly unpredictable world where everyone has something to hide.
Thurman returns as Charley, the former Special Ops officer whose complicated history with Dexter continues to evolve. After making her debut in the first season, Charley finds herself navigating a new chapter following her departure from the orbit of billionaire Leon Prater. Meanwhile, Woodbine joins the series as Captain Mixon, a commanding homicide captain whose arrival brings another perspective to the show’s ever-expanding criminal landscape.
At the center of it all is Hall’s Dexter, a character who has spent years balancing his desire for connection with the darker instincts that define him. Season 2 continues to explore that complicated duality as Dexter navigates life in New York, his relationship with his son Harrison, and the growing number of dangerous individuals crossing his path.
The new season also welcomes an impressive roster of talent, including Brian Cox as the notorious New York Ripper and Dan Stevens as the Five Borough Killer. With new threats emerging and familiar characters returning, the series continues to build on the mythology that has kept the Dexter universe alive for two decades.
We caught up with Uma Thurman, Michael C. Hall, Bokeem Woodbine, and the cast of Dexter: Resurrection to discuss returning to the world of Dexter Morgan, introducing new characters into an established franchise, and what audiences can expect as the story unfolds in Season 2.
