The Indonesian Fashion Gallery and Rivière Agency, along with several sponsors, came together and took over the Indonesian Consulate in New York.
During this private event, fashion and beauty influencers were served traditional Indonesian cuisine after receiving a sneak peak at a few Indonesian Diversity fashion week pieces before they hit the runway on February 7th.
This past Wednesday, in addition to exposing Indonesian culture to an eager crowd, Lori Rivière of the Rivière Agency brought out four models who wore pieces from collections designed by well known Indonesian designers including Dian Pelangi, whose work features Muslim fashion and Alleira Batik, the designer with an “East meets West” mentality.
The other two designs shown were from Maggie Eddy of 2MadisonAvenue, known for collaborating with local crafters, street artists, and more; and Itang Yunasz. Yunasz, once known as a famous singer and actor, became known for his modest clothing once his fashion career took off in 1981.
When supporting these designers, also support the team of brands who sponsored this event: Wardah Beauty, Diary Kiranti, and Reynol Bolung. In doing so, one is supporting all of Indonesia which will then give the nation more exposure and more opportunities to be heard.
