Le Marché Bleu is the shopping experience by Julia Roitfeld and presented with Grey Goose. We stopped by the stunning space and event!
The name “Roitfeld” should call to mind something of fashion and design royalty. If it doesn’t, get educated: Carine Roitfeld is a legend in the field, and is largely responsible for the uber-chic CR Fashion Book, a bible for fashion lovers everywhere. But her daughter, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, is a formidable model and tastemaker in her own right, proven as she flexed her curation muscle with effortless elegance for the a limited engagement in New York City this past week, Le Marché Bleu. Indeed, with a collaboration with Grey Goose, Roitfeld dreamed up a truly unique holiday shopping experience that invited guests to discover the allure of the French art de vivre. We dropped by the store at 64 Wooster Street for a fun-filled friday evening, which featured performances by the suitably euro-influenced St. Lucia, plenty of Grey Goose cocktails, including the signature Le Fizz, as well as a chance to shop around. The space was decked out in head-to-toe Grey Goose geese sculptures, a christmas tree of Grey Goose bottles as well as an awesome photo booth arrangement.
We took a chance to browse the shopping area, which featured the ultimate in rare and quintessential luxury items, Le Marché Bleu’s had a specially curated inventory. The products include many items normally only available in France including – Nina’s Paris Marie Antoniette Tea, unbelievably rich Angelina Hot Chocolate, Knockturnal-favorite Alain Ducasse Advent Calendar (fresh off a big redesign of the 55th street location!), Bêtise de Cambrai, Pierre Hermé Macarons (at a steep discount, no less!)– along with other foodie and luxury items such as Astier de Villatte Cufflinks, custom Smythson notebooks, Cire Trudon Candles and Johnny Iuzzini Chocolate Bars, which we sampled and promptly fell in love with. The vibe in the store is low pressure, but we couldn’t help but fall for the Armorlux slippers, so cozy and reminiscent of a Chanel Espadrille- if they were lined in super-fluffy wool. Le Marché Bleu will not only provide visitors with this singular taste of Parisian luxury, but also a festive escape for classic holiday sips and French delicacies from Chef Ludo Lefebvre at its Bar de Lumière.
Le Marché Bleu hosted a celeb filled private preview as well, with award-winning St. Vincent doing what she does best, DJing a crowd that pulled the likes of Rita Ora (looking insanely chic and tres Parisian). Ora has been busy, just off of a major Cavalli deal, she’ll be the host of America’s Next Top Model, where she will replace host Tyra Banks. Ora fans will be happy to hear she’s finally pushing this album out, after four years, “We’re planning to release the album this summer.” Be sure to also catch her cheeky LOVE MAGAZINE Advent feature. Other guests included Tessa Thompson of the new hit sci-fi series West World. She’s been living in Australia for the past four months as she films a new movie there. Cipriana Quann, Kelly Rutherford, and Knockturnal-endorsed Timo Weiland all made it to the evening festivites; Timo particularly enjoyed the scene and the impeccable style of the guests. Others included Ann Caruso, Kat Irlin, and Tony DiCiuricio.
64 Wooster Street on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 from 11am-7pm.
