Jill Stuart presented her Spring/Summer 2016 line at Industria Superstudio in the West Village to a crowd of celebrities, fashionistas and a solid assemblage of this year’s It girls.
The collection of 37 looks, simply described as dancey, electric, sheeny, trippy and magnetic, was filled with soft-layered fabrics in pastel hues and patterns punched with navy, burgundy and black reminiscent of the 70’s with a modern twist. Core pieces were high-waisted pants, sheer blouses and long, ruffled dresses.
Notable looks included a long, flowing three-tiered ruffled dress with spaghetti straps in an ivory and pale pink floral; high-waisted pants with front slits up to the knee lined with satin; a long, sheer black dress of eyelet and embroidered flowers with a plunging V-neck.
Seen on the front row: Solange Knowles, Bella Thorne, Sara Sampaio, Jesse Jo Stark, Zosia Mamet, Chelsea Leyland, Alex Pettyfer, Marloes Horst, Julia Goldani-Telles, Petra Collins, Cory Kennedy, Zoe Bleu Sidel, Liz Nistico and Louie Diller of Holychild, Becka Diamond, Kelly Bensimon, Alix Brown, Olivia Perez and Neha Kapur.
