On Sept. 4, Chase Freedom hosted a Priceless® Talk Back with Broadway Stars at the iconic Museum of Broadway. Featuring Derek Klena, who played Christian in the Broadway hit “Moulin Rouge” and Ashley Loren, who performed beside Klena as Satine, the talk back captivated Broadway fans.

The talkback took place in the museum’s lobby, which featured an array of Moulin Rouge merchandise and a complimentary bar with signature cocktails. Julie Boardman, a two-time Tony-winning producer and co-founder of the MOB, hosted the talkback, asking questions about Klena and Loren’s experience performing together.

“It takes an army on and off the stage,” Klena said while reflecting on his time performing in Moulin Rouge.

The pair also talked about their love of Broadway, and how the art of performance embodies the four Bohemian ideals: truth, beauty, freedom, and love.

“Art is the breath of life for so many of us,” Loren said. “So I think those bohemian ideals are just the ideals of any artist, any Broadway performer, anyone who loves the arts and patrons of the arts.”

The talk back ended with a breathtaking performance of “Come What May” from Moulin Rouge. Due to their genuine connection during the performance, it’s hard to believe they are no longer performing together every night.

Following the talkback, audience members were invited to walk through the museum, which featured the Moulin Rouge! The Musical: Spectacular, Spectacular exhibit.

“This museum is just stunning, and the thing that we wish we had growing up to experience and celebrate the history of Broadway in this way,” Loren said in an exclusive interview with The Knockturnal. “Chase Freedom and the Museum of Broadway is the perfect partnership.”

“[The museum] is beautiful, it’s stunning,” Klena added. “Especially the Moulin Rouge exhibit, so it was very fun to see our faces in there.”

As guests finished their walk through the museum, they were greeted with a cocktail reception, complete with delicious eats.

During the reception, Ian Brown, the Executive Director of Product Marketing Strategy at JPMorgan Chase & Co, explained Chase Freedom’s close connection to Broadway.

“Last year, we had a really great opportunity to sponsor Broadway in Bryant Park, a program from iHeartRadio,” Brown said.

The sponsorship aligned with Chase Freedom’s Freedom 5% and Freedom Flex credit cards, which include live entertainment in their cash rate bonus program. Memorable events like these are made possible by Chase Freedom’s partnership with MasterCard, specifically their Priceless® campaign.

“[Chase Freedom] allows you to earn rewards that express your authentic self,” said Brown.
