The World’s Largest Pizza Festival, the highly anticipated party of the summer, returned for its biggest celebration to date on Sunday, August 29. This year’s festival benefited Model Citizen and featured carnival-style games and exhilarating thrills which included a giant slip-n-slide, bounce houses, and of course lots of pizza. DJ Irie provided the atmospheric music vibes all night in addition to performances by two of music’s biggest stars.
First up was EDM icon Steve Aoki. He rocked the crowd with his infectious energy along with the help of Mother Nature (the private location where the party took place looked and felt like a resort). During his set, everyone took the time to sing “Happy Birthday” to the man who put together the entire event, Dan Fleyshman. And of course in true Aoki fashion, the EDM superstar pushed the birthday boy into the pool, as a celebratory gesture.
As the sunset and the moon rose, Hip-hop icon Lil Wayne took the stage to headline the event. The rap star played all of his hits ranging from “Go DJ” to “Lollipop” to the event closer “A Milli”. It was an epic performance that will definitely go down in history for everyone in attendance. Time will tell how next year’s event will go. If history repeats itself, then it will be nothing short of great.
