The Distorted People fashion streetwear launch party held at Ganga Tattoo (www.gangatattoo.com) in Los Angeles took place on Saturday, June 4th, 2022. www.distortedpeople.us

Distorted People officially launched with its Spring / Summer 2022 collection of Urban Street Fashion with a party at the exclusive tattoo studio and rooftop lounge GANGA Tattoo located in West Hollywood, where partygoers indulged in real tattoo art stations by top Ganga artists with featured DJ music by Politik.

Notables at the launch event joining Distorted People brand founders Eli Wehbe and Sascha Gerecht, included Nyjah Huston (pro skater), Ryan Garcia (champion boxer), Mario (music artist), Sarunas Jackson (HBO’s Insecure, HBO Max’ Made for Love, Hulu’s Good Trouble), artist Crime by Design (Ray Vanderbilt), actors, models and social influencers Paris Berelc, Casey Boonstra, Ayla Woodruff, Kalin White, Harlow Jane, Jasper Polish, Oana Gregory, LOVE ISLAND’s Kyra Green and Will Moncada, Christian Plourde, Candy Asmas, Rhys Athayde, Griffin Arnlund, Damien Wayans, Amelia Kearney, Taylor Brumann, Trinity Granzow, Mychala Lee, Dara Williams, Hazel Gray, Briar Butler, Aaron Fuller, Haley Gauthier, comedian Kwame Siegel, and many more.

A three part collection makes up their initial line, inclusive of College-Inspired styles, Athletic-Inspired styles and Vintage-Inspired styles, unisex in fit and designed with an edgy aesthetic in mind to push the lines of fashion and provoke “distorted thinking,” reflective of individuality and non-conformity. The event also showcased their exclusive collaboration of limited edition pieces with Ganga.

While the debut collection is officially categorized as men’s, it is also showcased on women throughout their ad campaign, instagram and digital look book, tying back to their nonconformist attitude and right on trend with today’s streetwear culture – and was rocked my many female influencers and models at the bash

At the party, guests enjoyed specialty cocktails by El Cristiano Premium Tequila in Silver, Reposado and Black label Aged Anéjo, Dos Hombres Signature Mezcal by Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, Malibu Rocky Oaks Vineyards red and white wine varietals, STAR Beer USA African Lager, and a whiskey bar by Brother’s Bond Bourbon featuring Old Fashioned and neat pours. Partygoers also hydrated with Sound Sparkling Water, PATH alkaline water, Onda Sparkling Tequila Seltzer and Caliwater Cactus Water in Wild Prickly Pear and Ginger & Lime flavors, and a taco street cart offered delicious Mexican cuisine.

Ganga Tattoo, essentially the hottest street tattoo artist studio in Los Angeles, founded by artist Joaquin Ganga, and perhaps one of the most known in the world, has many top clients inclusive of music artists, actors and sports figures such as Post Malone, Drake, Lebron James, Odell Beckham Jr, Gunna and more. Distorted People and Ganga joined forces for the launch celebration, a synergistic match to the streetwear brand aesthetic. The party of approx. 300 guests took over the impressive dome shaped tattoo studio, indoor atrium and two adjoining rooftop patios.

Distorted People officially makes its U.S. debut helmed by partners, co-founders, creators and designing consultants Eli Wehbe and Sascha Gerecht. Distorted People’s ready-to-wear streetwear styles are made from an extremely high quality of cotton via their design team in Europe, combined with a specialty graphic design team in Germany. The collections are now live for e-comm shopping at distortedpeople.us. Streetwear is currently leading the trends with everyday retail fashion, and continues to disrupt all areas of fashion. With this, Distorted People’s concept and creative vision is right on the mark.

On October 30th, OVO® x BAPE® launched their second collaboration with the Rapper, Future, as the face of their latest campaign.

 

For the second time, Drake’s lifestyle and clothing brand, OVO, collaborates with the streetwear brand BAPE. This time around rap-star, Future is the face of the OVO x BAPE co-branded FW2021 collection. The OVO x BAPE co-branded collection includes pieces that incorporate the OVO Owl woodland camouflage print with BAPE’s signature patterns. Along with Future being the face of the campaign, NBA star Amari Bailey models in the collections editorial lookbook. Prices for the collection start at $49 and go up to$905. On October 5th Maeve Reilly hosted a celebratory dinner at the Sunset Tower Hotel in LA to celebrate their Nasty Gal X Maeve Riley collection.

LA-Based women’s clothing brand, Nasty Gal, has joined forces with streetwear fashion expert and celebrity stylist Maeve Reilly. To celebrate the announcement and launch of her collaboration with Nasty Gal, Maeve hosted a cocktail party and dinner where attendees could preview the new collection. Guests included luxury jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, clothing designer Tanaya Henry and style influencers, Sophia and Victoria Villarroel.

Maeve Reilly is known for her streetwear aesthetic and a VIP client roster that has included names like Khole Kardashian, Megan Fox, and Hailey Bieber.  Maeve has transformed her signature style into an INCREDIBLY trend-forward 70 piece collection in sizes ranging between 0-26. The collection offers a variety of pieces like form-fitting dresses, oversized outerwear, wool shackets, and more that reflect Maeve’s signature “off-duty appeal”. “I’m so excited to announce my collaboration with Nasty Gal. Supermodel Shanina Shalk Looks Stunning In TWENTY Montréal Black Knit Dress at the Brands Store Opening Celebration in SoHo

On September 23rd, luxury active-and knitwear label TWENTY Montréal founded by designer David Helwani hosted a star-studded event to celebrate the launch of its first brick-and-mortar store in SoHo, New York. 

 

The brand new Twenty Montreal store, located at 242 Lafayette Street SoHo NY, was filled with celebrities, supermodels, and influencers to celebrate the brand’s very first store opening. Along with supermodel Shanina Shalk, Rapper Jim Jones, Victoria’s Secret Angel Chanel Iman, and NBA star Rudy Gay were all in attendance. While NBA star Rudy Gay DJ’d an exclusive set, attendees sipped on Loverboy cocktails while being the first to shop at the Twenty Montréal SoHo location. As of September 24th, the Twenty Montréal SoHo store is open to the public. Founder and Designer David Helwani has cultivated the space to be an immersive retail experience with elements including custom collection displays, gallery exhibits from local NYC artists, exclusive brand collaborations, and a coffee nook for customers, creators, and collaborators to enjoy while visiting the store. “I was born and raised in Montréal and have spent my last twenty years living in New York – the last seven of which have been in SoHo, specifically,” explains Helwani, “I’ve always aspired to live and work in the defining area where style seems as effortless as its iconic surroundings.”
