Miami, FL – Stitch Lab’s summer pop-up kicked off in style on July 11th, at the Aventura Mall. The event was a vibrant, sun-soaked gathering where Miami VIPs, designers, stylists, and top influencers mingled to celebrate the best of Latin American fashion.
Beloved Puerto Rican actress, TV host, and entrepreneur Adamari Lopez showcased her accessories brand, AxA by Adamari Lopez. A longtime supporter of Stitch Lab, Lopez made her entrepreneurial debut at the event, presenting a collection designed to inspire the bond between mother and daughter, alongside her daughter, Alaia. Other notable attendees included TV host Aleyda Ortiz, Miami’s ultimate fashion expert, Elysze Held, and social media influencers who have consistently supported the Latin American fashion scene.
Guests explored over 30 remarkable brands from Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, Uruguay, and Venezuela. These brands showcased a wide range of products, including swimwear, womenswear, footwear, accessories, and beauty items, all reflecting the season’s hottest trends and celebrating Latin American creativity. Among the standout brands were Andrea Gomez, the Venezuelan footwear designer known for her elegant yet functional designs, and Eugenia Fernandez, the Colombian designer who captivated attendees with her bold and vibrant prints.
A Vibrant Celebration of Culture and Innovation
Stitch Lab, founded by Karina Rosendo and Maria Teresa Arizaba, has become a beacon for Latin American designers seeking to break into the U.S. market. The summer pop-up is a testament to their commitment to fostering innovation and creativity within the fashion industry. “Our mission is to create a platform where Latin American designers can shine and gain the recognition they deserve. This pop-up is not just about showcasing products; it’s about celebrating our rich cultural heritage and the stories behind each brand,” said Rosendo.
The event also featured immersive experiences, allowing attendees to connect more deeply with the brands. From live demonstrations of artisanal craftsmanship to interactive workshops on sustainable fashion, the pop-up provided a comprehensive look into the innovative approaches driving Latin American fashion forward.
A Sustainable Fashion Movement
Sustainability was a key theme throughout the event. Many of the featured brands are dedicated to ethical practices, from using eco-friendly materials to supporting fair trade initiatives. Brands like Ayni, known for their luxurious yet sustainable knitwear made by artisans in Peru, exemplify this commitment.
“We believe in fashion that not only looks good but also does good,” said Adriana Restrepo, co-founder of Ayni.
