This summer, our one simple request is luxury—think: exquisite views, delectable spreads, and remarkable cocktails. The Balcón Rooftop at The Marmara Park Avenue hotel has all three, making for the most memorable nights.
Over the weekend, we had a chance to celebrate the opening of the quaint space with Mint Juleps and hors d’oeuvres while the crowd gathered around to catch the Kentucky Derby.
Although it was a chilly May Saturday in the city, we couldn’t pass up the chance to take in the breathtaking ambiance. As you walk through the retractable glass doors, you’re immersed in a scenery synonymous with “a breath of fresh air”—though that could’ve been the wind chill.
Nonetheless, standing at 20 stories high, the rooftop provides guests with panoramic access to New York City’s iconic skyline, including the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building.
You can choose to stand around the rooftop and watch all the city happenings below you; or, you can cozy up on their stylish and comfortable plush couches – so comfortable, you’ll want to call the front desk to extend your stay.
Sightseeing for sure builds up an appetite, so The Marmara has you covered. This season, the rooftop debuts its globally-inspired small plates prepared by Executive Chef Ömür Özkan. Menu items include hot dogs, pico de gallo with chips, turkey club and cheese, and, of course, the crowd-favorite charcuterie platter.
Just like their light-bites menu, their drink menu is also top-tier. Their beverage lineup includes innovative cocktails like the Yasasini Spiritz, Jalapeno & Cucumber, and an international wine collection acclaimed in Turkey.
Previous guests have mentioned that the Balcón is an ideal location for casual Happy Hours or a birthday get-together. One thing’s for certain, with its extensive menu inclusions and stunning atmosphere, The Balcón Rooftop will be on many people’s “Summer Bucketlist.”
