It was a pretty in pink day for Pretty Mischievous.
The 149th running of the Kentucky Oaks took place on a beautiful, crisp day that made a new champion. Pretty Mischievous, trained by Brendan Walsh and jockeyed by Tyler Gaffalione, won out of the 14th post. The purse was $1.25 million. Pretty Mischievous entered the race with 10-1 odds. It was an incredible first win for Friday’s win at Kentucky Oaks victory for both Walsh and Gaffalione.
Win: Pretty Mischievous: $22.74 (win), $10.10 (place), $7.40 (show). Gambling Girl in second was $12.84 (place), $8.36 (show). The Alys Look in third: $13.80 (show).
Churchill Downs announced that 106,381 people attended the Oaks, which made attendance 6% higher. All of the racing fans enjoyed the day.

The 15th annual Survivors Parade was also a moment to celebrate as it honored 149 selected survivors and fighters.
“I have been coming for years and I think this one tops them all because the weather is just so, so beautiful. I mean look a that sky – so pretty,” said repeat race horse lover Diana Gomez from Chicago.
