The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) kicked off two of their vital fundraising events this past week with a cocktail party at Versa in midtown Manhattan.
Hamptons Happening is one of the Hampton’s most highly-anticipated events of the summer. It will be taking place on Saturday, July 8th, 2023, at the Bridgehampton Estate of Kenneth and Maria Fishel. At Versa, guests were treated to hor d’oeuvres and beverages and invited to participate in a raffle with prizes like tickets to the Giants Draft Party and a towel warmer, perfect for coming back home from the beach.
“How many people in this room know about the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research foundation? Okay, that’s about half. Now a more serious question. How many people in this room have had someone they care about get sick with cancer? So we are all in the same situation,” said Doctor Samuel Waxman, addressing the crowd while highlighting the importance of events and fundraisers like these.
In fact, events like this cocktail party have allowed SWCRF to invest more than $100 million towards collaborative cancer research programs around the world. Breakthroughs accomplished with the help of the SWCRF include discovering cancer-causing genetic mutations and creating new therapies.
This years honorees include Lori and Scott Levine of Scott’s Protein Balls, Chef Ralph Scamardella of TAO Group, Denise Albert, the CEO and co-Founder of My Cancer Family, and Anna Zuckerman, the founder and chief designer at Anna Zuckerman Luxury.
