Power Book II: Ghost Season 2, Episode 7 Review

Things got intense after last week’s ending of Power Book II: Ghost as Monet’s children are given the spotlight this week.

Dru finally put some of the puzzle pieces together as he found out that Gordo is the one who killed Lorenzo by reading the text exchange. But he does not know that Monet is the one who put out the hit. Its a sad but also satisfying scene as Dru ‘s arc for this season has lead to a dark turn compared to the second season of Ghost. He killed him without hesitation! And the family made a so-called truce with the Russians, even after Kai was framed for Lorenzo’s murder.

I cannot lie, Brayden having sex with Keke and then started to think of Tariq made me laugh a bit. But the secret information about the firm’s way of doing fraud may be coming out soon as Brayden was the first to find out about it. In a Wolf of Wall Street fashion, he was told to shut up about it and never speak on it again. For now at least. But I wonder how did they know that Tariq and Brayden was selling product under their umbrella. Especially since one of the members of law enforcement went undercover as a homeless man to get one of the cups.

Theo is finally out of prison and he is wondering how Davis managed to get him out. What he does not know, is that Saxe bribed the parole board. It still puzzles me on why STARZ recasted Redman for this role. With that said, he is a free man now and will have to adjust to today’s world. I am also curious on what is Cane’s motive on helping Effie with her school tuition and giving her product to move. Did he take an interest of her?

What I like most about this episode is how everything that started earlier in the season that is now starting to pay off. Another strong episode that kept me engaged as the season is almost over.
