Hollywood Boulevard became a whole new world as the premiere of Disney’s Aladdin took over the infamous block!
The long-awaited revival of Disney’s 1992 cartoon film is finally here, and fans came out in numbers to catch a glimpse of the highly discussed cast including the legendary comedian, Will Smith. Many celebrities including Helen Mirren, Christina Milian, Terry Crews, Boris Kodjoe, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast mates, Alfonso Ribeiro and Tatyana Ali and many more walked the purple, magic carpet as they came to support their friends and enjoy the classic film.

When asked what Will Smith’s one wish would be, Smith responded, “It’s really anti-climatic but I would wish for divine wisdom, divine understanding.” Many might argue that Smith’s wish has already come true! As the carpet wrapped up, eager fans and guests made their way into the glamorous El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, CA to watch the premiere of arguably, one of Disney’s greatest films. After the initial reveal of the cast to the public months ago, it was no secret that fans were disappointed in casting and not feeling Smith’s blue genie look. However, I believe fans will be ecstatic and definitely satisfied with the end result, the cast and film exceeded all expectations and truly paid homage to the incredibly talented, late Robin Williams who was the original voice of Genie. Throughout the screening you could hear laughing, cheering and clapping which was a clear indication of how thoroughly the fans enjoyed the timeless tale.

Immediately following the premiere, guests made their way to the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel to celebrate! The enchanting hotel was transformed into the perfect Arabian night with lavish décor, purple lighting creating a mystical ambiance and of course, a giant magic carpet. Family and friends of the cast including the well-known Smith squad were all in attendance and ready to let loose. Children were living it up at the create your own luminary and lamp decorating booths while the big kids took to the magic carpet green screen activation. Attendees were also able to get a closer look at the elaborate and detailed costumes from the movie which were on display.

“The ever impressive, the long contained, often imitated, but never duplicated” Aladdin film will bring you right back to childhood and definitely a reason for you to disturb your slumber!
