Location! Location! Location! The popular mantra meaning a property’s geographical position is the most critical factor in its value and desirability certainly can be applied to Beast & Butterflies, a lively lounge bar with an incredible wraparound terrace that has breathtaking views of Times Square.  This hidden gem offers a picturesque and welcoming experience just in time for rooftop season.

Nestled inside the relaxing M Social Hotel Times Square and perched above the city’s hustle and bustle, Beast & Butterflies invites all visitors—including non-hotel guests—to enjoy tasty cocktails, eat delicious foods and have a front-row seat to the stellar, spellbinding bright lights of world-renowned Times Square. Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan at 226 West 52nd Street, the spot is among the city’s best rooftops due to the unbeatable views of the dazzling 24/7 digital billboards. Their vantage point of the sweeping scenery facing south of Broadway is magical. If you want to see the ball drop on New Year’s Eve from the comfort of a hotel room, this is the place to do it.

Beast & Butterflies has numerous locations around the world within M Social Hotel—including Paris, Singapore, Phuket, Auckland and two in New York (Times Square and Downtown World Trade Center). What makes the Times Square outpost so special is that its indoor and outdoor lounge is cozy, welcoming, and thrilling for both locals and hotel guests. During the day, Beast & Butterflies, which is directly adjacent to the hotel’s lobby, is like a living room where people can take it easy on the numerous sofas, watch television, play foosball and video games. At night, the space turns into a vibrant atmosphere with upbeat music and even a live DJ performance on some nights. It’s the perfect moody vibe for a drink with friends or with a loved one. As temperatures start to rise, the huge wraparound terrace at Beast & Butterflies is even more alluring. With comfortable seating surrounded by city lights and lush decor—it’s really a vibrant oasis.

The food at Beast & Butterflies is not to be missed. It was delicious and absolutely worth ordering. The rigatoni pomodoro pasta was tasty and the upscale Beast Burger was quite impressive. In fact, it’s one of the best cheeseburgers in the city! Made with prime beef and served with Hudson Valley cheddar, lettuce, tomato and pickles, secret sauce and delectable crispy fries, the dish was very satisfying. The burger was large, juicy, had a high-quality beef-to-fat ratio patty, gooey melted cheese and a balance of fresh veggies. For $26, this was a great value. The restaurant also has shareable bites that included, crispy fried calamari, classic NY Buffalo wings, mac & cheese and a gourmet cheese plate.

As for drinks, Beast & Butterflies offers unique, signature cocktails like the “West Side Story,” a vodka and elderflower beverage, an Instagram-worthy drink called the “Concrete Jungle,” and “Strawberry Fields,” made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Santoni Rhubarb Liqueur, strawberry and lemon. We recommend parking yourself at the bar with one of these cocktails in your hand.

For those looking for a hotel room, M Social Hotel Times Square is just as incredible and first-rate as Beast & Butterflies. The Knockturnal spent two-nights in the Social Premier Times Square King room and it was outstanding. The 280 sq. feet room had the best views of Broadway and was spacious for New York City standards. We had no problem moving around the room and there was plenty of closet space, an ideal size desk for work and a plush chaise for lounging. The bed was large and super comfy, which provided peaceful sleep. The room also came with luxurious touches like a rain shower in the bathroom, which we absolutely indulged in, bathrobes, slippers, a mini fridge to store food and drinks, a safe to store your belongings, blazing fast WiFi and numerous power outlets to plug in our tech devices, which we highly appreciated.

Lastly, the rooms at M Social Hotel Times Square have thick, soundproof windows that insulate guests from the loud, outside noise. Honestly, we forgot that we were in the middle of the Theater District and Times Square. It was absolutely quiet. After an exhausting day of sightseeing or working, you’ll be recharged, calm and happy.

M Social Hotel Times Square is really the ultimate urban oasis for all visitors. And with the best location, a splendid wraparound terrace along with yummy food and personable hospitality at Beast & Butterflies, there’s really no better place for fun and rest in Times Square. Come visit now, you won’t regret it at all.
