What do you think of Ermanno Scervino’s newest collection?
It is gorgeous. I am wearing the beautiful golden dress- it is stunning! Also I am getting to wear this amazing jacket, it is a very classic look.
Do you like to wear your natural hair on the runway?
Of course, I love to! I feel more fresh, and it is going to make a difference in the way black models are received.
What are your thoughts about the model Ajak Deng quitting the Fashion Industry because of certain “fakes and lies”?
Yes. She did a show with me, Bottega Veneta, and she didn’t tell me anything about the situation. I think she is well and happy.
Do you think that there are certain biases in the Fashion Industry?
I think this Industry changes the line up often and they need fresh faces and new girls. She has been in the Fashion Industry longer than I have. I think that the positive side of this change, is that it allows more opportunity for new girls in general but more specifically, new Africans or new models of color. But in reality, it doesn’t really affect me. I am happy doing one or two shows. I don’t need to do 2o shows. You know times change.
