Eleven Australian designers took New York Fashion Week by storm Friday afternoon at Industria Studios. Hosted by Fashion Palette, an organization designed to promote Australian collections to a panel of elite buyers in the Big Apple, the show featured pieces from crowned glittering gowns to soft activewear.

BRONX and BANCO
Launched in 2009, Bronx and Banco intertwines the urban with the sophisticated. Founded by designer Natalie De’Banco, the SS19 collection featured heavy ruffles and sleek, shimmering bottoms. Experimenting with styles from the classic skater-style dress to the traditional bodysuit, De’Banco created a revolutionary line of simple daywear to eccentric nightwear, and started off the FP SS19 show with a bang. The full runway collection can be viewed here.
SASKI COLLECTION
Designed by model and fitness guru Tammy Hembrow, Saski Collection showcases athleisure meant to inspire confidence in women both inside and outside the gym. Normally modeling the pieces herself, Tammy took a backseat at Fashion Palette and let her models work the runway with soft baby blue, black, and mint green pieces, ranging from cropped hoodies to windbreakers to cutout leggings. Check out the full collection here.
ELLIATT
Designer Katie Pratt’s like ELLIATT is unique for its cost-efficiency; after working with many high-profile fashion brands, Pratt realized the difference in prices between affordable womenswear and designer womenswear. She closed the gap, showcasing beautiful embroidery and incredibly intense feminine shapes. With some beautifully moving fringe work to picnic-style floral frocks, ELLIATT brought sunshine to this cloudy NYFW. Check out the SS19 collection here.
DA by DANIEL ALEXANDER
Daniel Alexander brought luxurious pieces to Manhattan this week, opting for a “good witch, bad witch” theme. From sharp angles to asymmetrical hems, Alexander flushed dark sequins with golden shimmers, and featured one of the best-received pieces from the show: an illuminated transparent latex gown with a matching crown, shown below. Here is the rest of his collection.
NNCY
This brand was developed by three Aussie sisters dedicated to individualism and flexibility in their pieces. These timeless pieces were designed for the average woman, catapulting her above the rest in comfort, style, and uniqueness. With red and lilac streaks throughout the runway show, NNCY showed that the most beautiful woman is a versatile one. View the SS19 collection here.
JAGGER & STONE by WE THE WILD ONES
Australian bloggers Nikki Westcott and Lucy Jackson brought their creative fashion dreams to live this year at NYFW. With tight leather corsets and red plaid skirts, Jagger & Stone played on typical patterns to introduce completely new work. The line featured BDSM-inspired belted bottoms and leather straps, as seen below. Here is the full collection.
SANTINA NICOLE
Designer Santina Ponte created this self-titled fashion line as an approach to precisely tailored womenswear. Her monochromatic looks are professional, sophisticated, and stylish. This SS19 runway showcased incredible silhouettes, from a plunging long-sleeved red dress to a shimmering white rouched evening dress with matching silk gloves. Below is the designer herself with one of her best looks. Her full collection is here.
ELLE ZEITOUNE
This namesake fashion line promotes sleek cocktail dresses and feminine evening gowns, developed from a background of visual arts and textile design, with Elle Zeitoune herself taught in 2010. All of her garments are stocked exclusively in Paddington, Australia. Her SS19 collection was elegant and timeless, from the first look to the last. Check it out here.
THE BLONDE REPUBLIC
Designed by 23-year-old Sapphiroula, a model and influencer, The Blonde Republic spins off the classic one-piece swimsuit framework. With easy, versatile pieces and soft colors, TBR features durable pieces that can translate well from day to night. The collection on the runway was black, cream, blush, and nude. The collection can be seen here.
AVERY VERSE
This brand was the only handbag line showcased on the runway, with each piece crafted with eco-friendly leather. Using a 6,000-year-old artisanal process of vegetable tanned leather, Avery Verse bags hail from Sydney, where Taylor and Christie Cook use passion to lead their designs. Proceeds from each sale go towards social and environmental initiatives. This season’s collection showcased stunning crossbody bags and classic everyday purses in a range of colors. See them here.
HARVEY THE LABEL
Soft and flowing pieces finished out the beautiful Fashion Palette SS19 runway show. Founded in 2015 by designer Mim Harvey, Harvey the Label combines quality with affordability. Inspired by her own frustration in trying to find high-end products within her budget, Harvey took it upon herself to design exactly what women like her searched for. The SS19 line featured patterned wrap dresses, flowy florals, and beautiful silhouettes. See the full collection here.
