What Not to Wear at Coachella

Coachella is just around the corner, as the top artists hit the stage in Indio, California, as thousands of people come together to soak up the sun and dance the weekend away.

Coachella is a massive music festival where tons of people attend including celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and even bloggers like Chiara Ferragni and Negin Mirasheli. All weekend long there are pool parties during the day at upscale boutique hotels then the artists play through out the day with big headliners.

This is the time to show off your best summer outfits while hardly wearing anything at all due to the desert heat. Coachella is the Woodstock of our generation, yet more trendier than most festivals.

Native American headdresses are a big NO. If you are going to a festival like Coachella, it’s time to stop this trend that has been seen at the festival multiple times. Due to its cultural appropriation for Indigenous people of America, stay away from falling into this blissful trap that most people fall in.

American flag bandanas are not cute. At least this is my opinion. But trust me, you do not want to be seen with one on and run into 50 other men with the same idea. May try something different like a baseball cap or a floppy big hat (they are not just for women).

Gladiator sandals. First off these will give you the worse kind of tan line, so be ware. Second, you’re feet will most likely hurt from standing and walking all day. Try to be comfortable and cute at the same time. It is doable.

Now here is what to wear after I gave you all these don’ts. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes such as converse or espadrilles. Wear a bikini top under your outfit just in case you can’t bear the heat. Layer with jewelry, be colorful, and make sure to bring a big enough bag to carry all your essentials. Now go have fun and pretend it’s 1975.
