LAUREN MAYHEW x INViDA – BOYS [TIPSY RECORDS]
Tampa DJ, actress, and singer Lauren Mayhew returns to the release radar with ‘Boys’, her first release of 2021 featuring production courtesy of New York City-based DJ/producer INViDA. The latest from the duo follows up ‘Lies’, their collaborative endeavor released alongside L.A.-based singer/songwriter Kymber McClay at the tail end of last February. A wholly inclusive, quintessential party anthem, the track audibly evokes a sensual playfulness, effortlessly enticing the listener with each passing second. Out today on Tipsy Records, the star-studded music video features a string of reality TV stars and influencers, including Carl Radke from BRAVO’s hit reality show Summer House. Additionally, it was innovatively shot with a state-of-the-art robotic camera arm, the MIA, one of Portland, Oregon-based Motorized Precisions’ newer tech products. From start to finish, it features a raucous party rife with an infectious intensity that doesn’t let up. Check it out!
THE LOW FLYING PANIC ATTACK – BRIDGES + REMIXES [FANECA MUSIC]
Madrid’s emerging indie electronic outfit The Low Flying Panic Attack has taken 2020’s trials and tribulations as an opportunity to refine their sound and produce their debut studio album slated for release this year. “Bridges” is a high-energy blend of electronica, future bass, and trip-hop led by an explosive vocal line that fuels the engine of the track. The release is a standout single from the duo that perfectly exemplifies the freshness and eclecticism that the group weaves through all of their productions. The 3 remixes that accompany the single are highlights from the group’s published catalog: “Demons Grow”, “Tears & Glass” and “Burn”. Renowned future bass artist STALIN gives his take on “Demons Grow”, relying on sound power to squeeze the track to the full potential. Remixed by Víctor Cabezuelo, leader of Rufus T. Firefly, “Tears & Glass” is given the trip-hop treatment, applying organic and experimental electronics that breathe fresh air into the original cut. Finally, Jus Kno’ is in charge of integrating their IDM and vanguardism in the song “Burn”, giving a 360º turn to the song and reducing it to the minimalism and delicacy that characterizes their sound.
747 – ‘WHILE MY 303 GENTLY WEEPS’ EP [AQUAREGIA]
Following his late January single release, we’ve been so excited to check out the latest EP from Canadian acid techno extraordinaire 747. From fast-paced acid synths coupled with hazy kicks to introspective melodic cuts, his latest marks a thunderous return for the Vancouver-based talent. Kicking off the EP, “You, You” delivers an unabashedly hard-hitting slice of fast-paced acid that gracefully echoes his signature sound design. “Does Anybody Remember Laughter” boasts euphoria and the promise of a better tomorrow, with a cacophony of glistening synths that are pushed forward by a muted 303 loop. The titular single, released back in January, is a soothing melange of lush pads, throbbing kicks, and a triumphant attempt to inject the beloved guitar solo into techno. The final track, “You Missed The Starting Gun”, provides the perfect dessert to a 4-course meal. A nearly seven-minute whirlwind of wavering dub blasts, angelic crescendos, and alluring synths, the EP’s coda will take listeners on a reminiscent journey of peak-time anthems.
JONAS SAALBACH – MIDNIGHT SKY (CARLO WHALE REMIX) [EINMUSIKA]
After a monumental year of releases in 2020, Carlo Whale has remained incredibly active since the start of 2021. In just two short months, the rising producer has delivered unparalleled singles on both Einmusika and Oddity which have amassed thousands of streams collectively. Released in conjunction with the original, his remix of ‘Midnight Sky’ offers the listener a chance to experience Saalbach’s original version in a reimagined light. The track gradually picks up momentum as the soft resonating vocals from Luna Semara shine throughout the track. Incorporating cinematic elements and dark synths, this track was designed with the underground club scene in mind.
RIOT TEN x CHRMNDRS – POPPIN (FT. KRYSTALL POPPIN) [DIM MAK]
Following a massive year for Riot Ten, which included the release of his Hype or Die: Emergence EP and his house-focused BLKMRKT Vol.1 EP, the El Paso-based producer kicks off 2021 with “Poppin.” It is the first single off Riot Ten’s highly-anticipated forthcoming sophomore album, set to drop this year on Dim Mak. “Poppin” is Riot Ten’s latest bass heavy single which sees him team up with Montreal’s CHRMNDRS, who was recently featured on Buygore’s Summer 2020 compilation. The two producers forged their talents together to create a festival-ready thrasher of epic proportions. To make the track really pop, Riot Ten called upon his close friend Krystall Poppin to add her energetic vocals.
CLOUDNONE – DOPAMINE [OH2 RECORDS]
After releasing ‘Dream Running’ featuring trailblazing Ohio-based talent, Direct last week, ‘Dopamine’ rounds out the 2-track feature in style. Featuring dreamy, retro-infused vocals, the warped intro slowly builds upon itself, crescendoing with magnificently punchy, highly energetic chords. Pulsating synth tones hover over the analog leaning top line, creating a swirling atmosphere rife with tension. The shuffling percussion rises to a climax in the second half of the release, culminating in an adeptly placed vinyl backspin. Created for dance floors the world over, this energetic release is sure to see some serious support once clubs open their doors again. Gaining support from industry heavy-wights for the likes of Oliver Heldens, Tiësto, Don Diablo, ILLENIUM and many more, this highly talented mysterious artist can’t wait to take over the dancefloors of festival grounds all over the world.
