Actress, producer and author Lala Anthony is no stranger to the spotlight and is constantly on the go. From behind the scenes to the big screen, Lala has become an expert at self-care.
“I’ve realized how important it is, especially in a pandemic where we’ve been forced to slow down and reevaluate what’s important in our lives,” she explains, “I realize when we take time for ourselves we’re better parents, we’re better partners, we’re better at our jobs, we’re better friends, we’re better everything.”
Through it all, the powerhouse actress and Mom is excited for more to come, all while putting herself first. “I’ve figured out ways to plan my days better when it comes to being healthier and doing what I need to do and feeling good about my days. I keep my Kellogg’s Special K, keto friendly snack bars because I’m such a snacker.”
Many recognize her from hit shows like “Power” and Showtime’s “The Chi,” yet she is creating buzz for her newest project, adapting her best-seller The Love Playbook as a tv series. Lala hopes to bring the show to 2021, reexamining how relationships are looked at today.
“People just never get tired of talking about love and the dos and don’ts and what you should do in love and what you shouldn’t do in love. It’s probably a question that’s never, ever going to be fully answered.”
Lala is also pairing up with Issa Rae to produce “Julu” a new horror-comedy film described as “Mean Girls” meets “The Craft.” “You have this group of kids in New Orleans who were not the cool kids and then they turn to witchcraft to try to be the cool kids and you see the craziness that happens by them doing this. There’s a lot of cool lessons that are learned during the film and definitely at the end of the film.”
