In the late 1910s and through the 1920s the state had several bands of young musicians that put Indiana on the map. The state of Indiana birthed legends like The Jackson 5, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Babyface, going all the way back to rock band like Guns N’ Roses. Indiana was also home to Gennett Records, known for jazz, blues, and country music in the 1920s. But the contemporary conversation doesn’t stop there.
Indiana’s contemporary history embeds in the collateral map the city has counterpane over the years with legends like Babyface writing 7 #1 Billboard Hot 100 hits that include songs like “I’ll Make Love to You” by Boyz II Men back in 1994. Indiana’s legacy also serves as a 25-mile stretch of I-65 through Indy that was renamed Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds Highway.
