NFL Quarterback Manny Wilkins aka 5IVE debuts a project “INTRO” proving he is more than an athlete.
The singer, who also happens to be Ferina, (PARTYNEXTDOOR‘s label) from college football at Arizona State to making music, 5IVE brings quarantine music vibes with 5 tracks long EP with only two features from Capito and Prep Bijan. Meanwhile the production for the project is handled by Batmanonthebeatz, Nxghts, Ashton Mccreight and Emoney. In entirety it sets the tone with sultry moody songs like “Watch Out”, “On The Road” leading the Trap Soul sound that reverberates on the project all the way through. “Do You Gotta Man” featuring Prep Bijan switches up the instrumental a little. 5IVE’s childhood drove him to be an athlete-artist as he explains that him and his dad connected heavy through music.
“When I was 10 he passed so all of our favorite records just meant that much more. I used music as an escape. Words would make me cry, be angry, be happy, and when you can capture someone’s emotions because of how your song made them feel… that’s when you’re tapped in doing it right. I would see that certain songs would put me in certain moods, probably 5 years ago I started messing around recording some here and there. Then the last year I really locked in and made it a priority in my life. I knew that if I dedicated myself to something like music it would open up a REAL side of me that’s always been there. I started recording myself and learning pro tools from Prep Bijan and ultimately fell in love with the process. I just love the way music makes me feel emotionally. Music has always been a passion of mine, now I’m finally able to do it the right way with having the right team behind me. “ – 5IVE
What makes 5IVE a great addition to the Trap Soul genre because of his ability to sing and rap making him a fitting representation of the Trap Soul genre, revving up the audience for what is to come from him in the future. Listen to the project here.
