Last night hundreds of guests and celebrities attended a special VIP opening party for VANDAL on Bowery. Chef Chris Santos and TAO Group have launched an incredible new restaurant that is edgy and fun.
The 300-seat restaurant designed by Rockwell Group features a downstairs lounge and original works from a world-renowned roster of street artists. It will soon be the staple destination and destined to be perennially booked with influencers and foodies alike.
Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Allison Williams, Nina Agdal, Chanel Iman, Chris Noth, Tyson Beckford, Matt Dillon, Swizz Beatz, Andi Dorfman, Lauren Scala, DJ Vice, Busta Rhymes, Maxwell, Gregg Bello, Micky Rourke, Ben Watts, Tony Shafrazi, Andre Saraiva, Alexander Wang, Megan Williams, Sante D’arazio, Nur Kahn, Susanne Bartsch, Devon Windsor, David Barton, Rachel Hilbert and David Rockwells were among the New York elite who celebrated.
Chanel Iman walked in with a beautiful smile and a fashionable black-ensemble.
“I’m always looking for new places to eat,” said the stunning model.
Gyllenhall looked lovely in her cream-colored dress and boots enjoyed the evening and discussed her recent night out at the Golden Globes.
“I had such a good time,” she said on the carpet.
Guests were greeted with champagne as they entered at the rotating faux shop featuring floral design by Ovando. Attendees relished the spectacular space and lively energy of the DJ mixing up David Bowie tributes as they tasted such delights as Salsa Verde Pizza and Red Snapper Tostados. The menu, which boasts a mix of multi-ethnic small plates that pay homage to street fare from around the world, is sure to be a hit in Manhattan as it pleases many different cravings in one setting.
Down in the lounge partygoers took in the works of Hush and Sheppard Fairy as they sipped specialty cocktails The Intervention (made with Gentleman Jack Whiskey), Castor Joy (Grey Goose Vodka, Chipotle New Mexico Chili Simple, Grapefruit Juice, Lemon and Angostura) and the popular Trigger Finger served in a glass flask (Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Amaro, Cocchi Americano, Raspberry Simple, and Grapefruit bitters).
