Madison Square Garden; Not only one of the most iconic arenas in the world, but one known for providing some of the most versatile, delectable food options.
Whether it’s juicy chicken tenders and fries at Mike’s Hot Honey, or the pastrami on rye at Carnegie Deli, there’s a little something for everyone. Beginning October, the array of choices just got better.
Beyond Meat announced that they are now the official plant-based partner of Madison Square Garden (MSG), and are providing a variety of items through their new concession stands, the Go Beyond Grills. The menu includes Beyond’s bratwurst and spicy sausages, chili, nachos and more.
David Hopkinson, President and COO of MSG Sports, says he felt that it was important to offer items that have a focus on sustainability and that he couldn’t be prouder to welcome Beyond Meat to the MSG family. Seeing that New York City is a place that’s prioritizing vegetarian diets in so many different ways, these new additions will only enhance the concertgoer or game-watcher experience for those looking for vegan-friendly options.
Chef Diana Stavaridis, a Massachusetts native and farming and sustainability connoisseur, has had plenty of experience working with vegan clientele. From creating the “Vegan Benedict” to the “Vegan Chickpea Burger,” there was no one better suited to work with Beyond Meat in innovating these delightful meals. The Knockturnal was granted exclusive access to the first tasting, where she and her team presented the Beyond burger and Garden State tacos:
The Burger includes two seared patties, topped with cheese, lettuce, and tomato, on a sesame seed bun. The patty is made of ingredients that can easily be read and understood by everyone, with no additives or hormones incorporated. While the burger obviously contains no meat, it’s tender, juicy, and practically melts in your mouth after the first bite. The plant-based cheese has a distinct cheddar taste, and the Rafters sauce gives that hint of sweetness needed, with all the explosive savory flavors.
The Garden Steak Tacos consist of scrumptious Beyond Steak, one of the company’s newest creations that debuted last year. It looks and tastes entirely like real beef, yet it’s made from fava beans and packed with protein. The salsa verde adds some spice, and pico de gallo and cilantro give the tacos a quintessential amount of tanginess and crunch.
You can now cheer on the Knicks vs. the Spurs at their game (November 8th) with a Beyond spicy sausage roll or burger in hand, or sing along to P!nk’s concert (November 4th) after eating mouthwatering spicy nachos or tacos. Go Beyond Grill is at The Garden to provide inclusivity to those with dietary restrictions, and fill hungry bellies with nutritional and delicious choices.
