From Feb. 12 to Feb. 14, FX hosted a series of pop-ups around New York City in honor of its newest release, “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.”
Created by Connor Hines and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, the anthology series takes inspiration from Elizabeth Beller’s book “Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.” It tracks the high-profile romance between Kennedy (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Bessette (Sarah Pidgeon) and the pair’s marriage in 1996, meeting while Bessette was still working at Calvin Klein. “Love Story” focuses on the pressure and media storm surrounding their relationship, while giving audiences an intimate look at the couple’s love in nine episodes.
To celebrate the series’ three-episode premiere, FX hosted various activations across NYC themed around Valentine’s Day, covering everything from chocolates to roses.
On Feb. 12, In partnership with luxury chocolatier Jacques Torres, passersby at Grand Central Terminal had the chance to stop by FX’s “Love Story” pop-up cart and try some complimentary, handcrafted mini chocolate bars, branded with the “Love Story” logo. The famous brunch spot Bubby’s in TriBeCa also hosted a pop-up cart, offering guests complimentary hot apple cider and hot chocolate to beat the cold outside along with an assortment of cookies.
