Celebrities Took to the Runway During the 8th Annual Blue Jacket Fashion Show
On Thursday, February 1st, celebrities assembled at the 8th annual Blue Jacket Fashion Show, sponsored by Zero Prostate Cancer, Johnson & Johnson, and the Fashion Group Foundation. Models for the night included actors, news hosts, current and former athletes, reporters and journalists—even two Tony winners.

The Blue Carpet Fashion show was founded by fashion designer Frederick Anderson as a platform to openly discuss prostate cancer. Throughout the day on Thursday, the Blue Jacket Initiative took to the streets to set up free testing and provide educational materials on prostate cancer across New York City. The organization is also raising funds for future prostate cancer testing resources and to support patients in need.
The event’s festivities began with a “blue carpet,” where the models of the night gave previews of what they would be wearing for the evening. Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winning actor and singer Billy Porter was only on the blue carpet for mere seconds before rushing backstage to fetch his favorite piece of the outfit. He returned a moment later, accessorized with a Thom Brown bag.
Other special guests for the evening also assembled on the blue carpet, including journalist and talk show host Tamron Hall and actress Holly Robinson Peete.

This wasn’t your grandma’s tea and crumpets affair; it was the “Luv Urself Event,” celebrating Betsey’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection and campaign in style.
Picture this: a venue transformed into a dreamland of glamour, overflowing with tea, cake, and Betsey Johnson as your queen of fashion royalty, and what better way to celebrate royalty than to have the swanky vibes of LA’s Monty’s Good Burger – a vegan haven that even the carnivores couldn’t resist. And who graced this wonderland? None other than a star-studded guest list including the likes of Matty Healy, Chloe Cherry, Jesse Jo Stark, Drumaq, Stassie Karnanikolaou, Amanda Lepore, Avani Gregg, and the dynamic duo Victoria & Sofia Villarroel, just to name a few.

And can we talk about Betsey Johnson stealing the show? The queen herself took center stage, and the crowd erupted in cheers and applause. It was a unanimous decision – Betsey was the true queen of the night, and we were all just lucky enough to be in her fabulous realm. Her humble words touched our hearts and we could have not been more grateful than to share that space with her that night.

What better way to kick off Dry January than with mocktails and manicures? Mingle Mocktails and GLOSSLAB graciously extended an invite to a girls’ night out and treated us to both—lucky us!
The founder of Mingle Mocktails, Laura Taylor, was mingling among the guests for a Dry January event, which allowed guests to try each of the lineup of the beverage’s flavors. With a drink in hand, guests were also treated to a complimentary manicure.
(I picked the perfect shade to match my beveragino—Mingle Mocktail’s “Cranberry Cosmo!”)
My nails dried insanely fast—which made it infinitely harder to keep myself from indulging in the spread laid out for the evening. In addition to a charcuterie board and finger desserts from Eataly, the food also included the cutest “cakes-in-a-jar” from Andie’s Eats, a local bakery in NYC.
(I snuck a jar of the S’mores cake in my swag bag—no regrets everyone!)
I was honestly impressed with Mingle Mocktails—especially after trying so many soda alternatives over the past year. “Blood Orange Elderflower Mimosa” was my favorite, with “Cranberry Cosmo” coming in at a hard second.
