In The City: ST~GERMAIN Liqueur Debuts Fleuriste ST~GERMAIN with Multi-Hyphenate Artist Jameel Mohammed of KHIRY & Paper Floral Designer Zoe Bradley
Last night on a perfect summer night in a very downtown New York City, ST~GERMAIN Elderflower Liqueur in collaboration withΒ multi-hyphenate artistΒ Jameel MohammedΒ of KHIRYΒ and Paper DesignerΒ Zoe BradleyΒ launched theΒ 2ndΒ AnnualΒ Fleuriste ST~GERMAIN — a veritable paper βfleuristeβ or flower shop en franΓ§ais in response to the global flower shortage.
The multi-sensory paper flower shop sought to reimagine the joie de vivre of fresh florals by bringing their eternal joy to life with paper mediums, and spark collaboration and creativity through inspired conversations, exclusive jazz performances, one-of-a-kind bouquets, and whimsical cocktails.
βItβs been an honor to collaborate with Jameel on Fleuriste ST~GERMAIN,β said Zoe Bradley of Zoe Bradley Design. βWorking alongside an artistic peer allowed me to endlessly leverage my imagination and create emotive installations that reintroduced the elation of fresh flowers. I hope guests delight in the pleasure and fantasy of our creations.β
The paper flower shop-cum-craft cocktail bar pop-up in the heart of SoHo buzzed, as an illustrious mix of cultural tastemakers, celebrities, musicians and industry innovators mingled and toasted with artfully crafted St~Germain cocktailsΒ inspired by Jameel and ZoeΒ βthe βSongbirdβ, βFleur Savageβ and βAbove the Cloudsβ.Β
The intimate soiree previewed the second iteration of the limited-run Fleuriste St~Germain pop-up space, which will be open to New Yorkers from Friday, August 12 (2-8 pm) through Saturday, August 13 (12-8 pm), where they can enjoy exclusive performances by Jameel, spirited dialogues, and paper flower workshops by Zoe along with specialty craft cocktails.
We spotted Actress AnnaSophia Robb, who is set to tie the knot next month, arrived wearing in a stunning yellow Carolina Herrera dress and Mark Cross bag. She chatted with Jameel Mohammed on how her very first cocktail was one whipped up by her mom using a bottle of her favorite elderflower liqueur, St~Germain. Southern Charm star,Β Venita Aspen, made a surprise appearance, sipping on a βFleur Savageβ St-Germain cocktail as she told fellow guests about her recent move from Charleston to New York just in time for the summer.
Multi-hyphenate artist and Fleuriste St-Germain Creator Jameel Mohammed of KHIRY entranced the crowd with his singing, performing two Ella Fitzgerald songs; βBlue Skiesβ and βI Didnβt Know What Time it Wasβ.
The evening wrapped withΒ AnnaSophiaΒ in the back of house snacking on the leftover hors d’oeuvres, including the miniature tempura rutabagas, and joking that this might be better than the post-event sushi date she had planned with Carrie Diaries alumΒ Stefania LaVie Owen.
RoleCall Theater is a non-profit independent theater company that provides a safe space for creatives to display their talents. From short plays and films to workshops and improv shows, RoleCall Theater introduces a new wave of talent bringing a fresh perspective to the theater community.
The quaint space is located in Downtown Atlantaβs Ponce City Market, an eclectic historical building that was remodeled in 2014 and houses various cuisine-focused restaurants, trendy retail stores, comfortable outdoor spaces and a rooftop with a view that is to die for.
Right between a parking garage and Pancake Social, a trendy brunch spot, is RoleCall Theater. Itβs tucked in to a small corner, and if youβre not paying attention itβs easy to miss. Their outdoor theater space, when not in use, is a typical 3-tiered seating area for patrons.
But what it lacks in space it makes up for in culture.
This summer, RoleCall Theater is the home of Shakespeareβs A Midsummer Nightβs Dream.
You can catch the Shakespearean tragedy live from Thursday to Saturday until August 20th.
Only evening shows are available, which is perfect if you’re trying to avoid Atlantaβs almost unbearable summer temperatures. But even the sweltering heat isnβt enough to ruin this quirky yet entertaining depiction of one of the playwrightβs most popular works.
Given the feel of this play and the many times itβs been done by other theatre companies, it’s expected of the cast to convey a comedic and zany approach but in an exciting, energy-packed plot of confused romance as well as pleasurable, weird schemes.

Trevor Poli as Demetrius, Nicolette Acosta as Helena, Molly McInturff as Hermia and Sully Brown as Lysander.
Directed by RoleCallβs in-house director and producer Lyssa Hoganson and Evan Fields, the famous play was brought to life with a talented 7 person cast and just a few props.
The last time I read A Midsummer Nightβs Dream was in High School, and I hadnβt thought about it since. The old Elizabethan English left me confused and 17-year-old me didnβt quite have the appropriate attention span to absorb all five acts. But it all started to come back to me once I took my seat inside the RoleCall Theater.
This time, despite the frequent switches between the fairy world and the human world, following along was pretty easy β which is a testament to the memorable performances of each cast member.
Most people already know the story of A Midsummer Nightβs Dream. Itβs a play within a play, and it follows four lovers, an upcoming marriage and a group of amateur actors. A few fairies are sprinkled in there, too.
The cast features The Knockturnalβs very own Nicolette Acosta as Helena/Flute/Cobweb, Madeline Brashier as Puck/Philostrate/Egeus, Sully Brown as Lysander/Nick Bottom, Evan Fields as Oberon/Theseus/Snout, Molly McInturff as Hermia/Starveling/Peaseblossom, Kaley Pharr as Titania/Hippolyta/Snug and Trevor Poli as Demetrius/Quince
Every group eventually ends up in the same place at the same time. Mischief takes place at every turn and themes of love and heartbreak come up often, thanks to the inevitable side effects of overdosing on love potions. There are romantic and physical chases due to mistaken identities and an obnoxiously dramatic wedding all delivered in to a wonderfully bold performance.
You may not remember how this adventure plays out. I know I didnβt, initially. But it doesnβt matter because the performance, while enigmatic, was as magical as a fairy-enchanted forest.
Above all, the whole production organically flows together with Nicolette giving a magnetic portrayal of scorned lover Helena, and Molly conveying the opposite side of the spectrum of adolescent love in her character Hermia. Sully and Trevor do a great job of commanding the room during their heated love-ridden arguments as Lysander and Demetrius. Evan and Kaley accomplished the difficult task of presenting the beautiful yet dangerous realities of marriage between Oberon and Titania.
And no one could have played the role of Puck better than Madeline, with her adorable charisma and playful demeanor.
With a sense of baffling foolishness and wonder, the play concluded.
I caught a Thursday night show, so it wasnβt too packed. The box-sized room with long, black curtains adorning each side was tight. I remembered thinking βSurely, this cast of seven can’t give us, the audience, a compelling performance in such a tiny space?β There was a sturdy, black step ladder situated on top of a few vintage rugs in the middle of the room. The set up was almost too simple. I wasnβt sure what I had walked in to, but I left feeling happy that I did.

In The Hamptons: Southampton Arts Center Opens New Summer Exhibition
Last Saturday evening during a busy and eventful Hamptons weekend,Β the Southampton Arts Center held a party and at that time art lovers came to celebrate and toast three beloved local artists – Deborah Buck, Hal Buckner, and Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas – with the opening of their latest exhibition, Figures Transformed.Β

Jean Shafiroff, Simone Levinson, Elyn Kronemeyer
SAC Founding Co-Chair,Β Simone Levinson, told the crowdedΒ room, “Our mission has always been to build a community for the talented artists and art enthusiasts of New York’s East End. As I look around and see all of you here, it is a testamentΒ to what we do year-round. Thank you to our artists for inspiring us and to all of you for being part of our community. We’re very excited to have this exhibition as the perfect backdrop for our upcomingΒ 2022 SummerFest! Before we’ve even sent out the invitations, we’ve raised over $500,000 and sold over 400 tickets! THAT is community.”
If you are interested in checking this exhibit for yourself, it is available until September 24, the multimedia exhibition displays works that use the figure as central imagery. Deborah Buck uses anthropomorphic and imaginary figures to create an other-worldly environment that beckons us to partake in a world beyond ours.
Hal Buckner utilizes the female figure to empower, celebrate, and alter the art historical canon. Strong-Cuevas focuses on the figureβs head as a representation of the whole, exploring inner consciousness, outer space and communication through space and time. The show is curated byΒ Christina Mossaides StrassfieldΒ and sponsored byΒ Sylvia HemingwayΒ andΒ Lana Jokel.
On September 1stΒ the Southampton Arts Center will have their SummerFest eventΒ and at that time they will be honoring Helena and Rob Vahradian.
