IWC Schaffhausen hosted a Jazz themed party with a performance by Patti Austin for the launch of their first Pilot Watch in 1936 in Geneva.
IWC held the thirties inspired bash at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie watch show. Guests were treated to the sounds of the Pepe Leinhard Big Band from Switzerland and a 20 person dance ensemble from England. Guests included Rosamund Pike, Hilary Swank, Zhou Xun, Christoph Waltz, Scott Eastwood, Chris Evans, Dev Patel, Elyas M’Barek, Moritz Bleibtreu, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurková.
The watch company choose the jazz era as their theme to highlight the daring pilots of the time. “Many of us have shared a fascination for aircraft and flying since our childhood years. IWC’s Pilot’s Watches bring this passion to people’s wrists and are popular with watch devotees all over the world,” said Georges Kern, CEO of IWC in a statement.
Patti Austin, Ronan Keating, Curtis Stigers, Eric Harland and Till Brönner all performed in a revue-style show entitled “Come Fly With Us.” Each performed their own rendition of classic songs from the jazz or swing era. British comedian Rob Brydon also took the stage as the MC for the night. Pike praised the festivities saying,”I enjoyed every minute.The thirties atmosphere was so creatively interpreted that I kept thinking I was on a film set.”
