Hotel Figueroa‘s historic pool served a different purpose than its usual summer retreat on Saturday as it became an entry point for adventure, community and ocean exploration during the hotel’s celebration of Women’s Dive Day.
In partnership with Eco Dive Center, the downtown Los Angeles property hosted an afternoon dedicated to introducing more women to scuba diving while bringing together local businesses and aquatic enthusiasts.
The event carried added significance at Hotel Figueroa, a property originally founded by women and long associated with celebrating women’s achievements. That history provided a fitting backdrop for a day centered on encouraging women to step outside their comfort zones and experience a sport that has traditionally been viewed as intimidating or inaccessible.

The pool also welcomed aspiring mermaids, with mermaiding experiences adding a playful element to the celebration while reinforcing the event’s theme of building confidence in the water. Beyond the pool, attendees browsed women owned vendors offering a variety of products, while complimentary food and refreshments kept the gathering lively. Giveaways and raffles added to the festivities, creating opportunities for guests to take home prizes while also connecting with fellow attendees.
