Look out world, there’s ninjas, horse fighting scenes, and international assassins in our midst! Legendary hitman John Wick is back for a third time in John Wick 3: Parabellum. Keanu Reeves steps back into his iconic John Wick character to play the super-assassin role.
This time he finds himself running from an army of bounty hunters out to murder him as he fights a $14 million price tag on his head. The bounty comes after Wick kills a member the High Table–an international assassin guild.
Director Chad Stahelski has raised the bar for this installment by increasing the action, crime, and fighting scenes more than before. Reeves spoke of his character development since the first film to now sharing, “This film us about consequences. In chapter two he’s running for his life because of his actions. In chapter three, he’s trying to figure out a way just to live”.
Halle Berry plays alongside Reeves in as his close friend and assassin. She trained extensively for her role. “I never worked that hard in my life, but it was worth it,” she says. Berry trained physically, sharing videos of herself on her Instagram after intense workouts and martial arts practices for the role.
Lance Reddick appears again in the third film as he returns to play the hotel manager of The Continental. “In my opinion if there’s anybody you could say that’s the heart of the film it’s my character—Sheron,” Reddick says.
Mark Dacascos jumped right into his ninja-warrior role of Zero. “I was cast on Monday and we started filming on Thursday,” he says. “Chad, as our director, was very much a leader in encouraging us to improvise and play with it [the role].”
