Tristen J. Winger
Tristen J. Winger, the breakout star from Issa Rae’s “Insecure”, stars in the new season of “BIGGER” on BET+. The fan-favorite is returning for an intense season 2 and is sure to be an action-packed, hilarious, and twisted adventure with the Fab 5. You know, the fab 5 of mover and shakers making their own paths in the bustling city of Atlanta, GA. There’s a character everyone can relate to. The young man climbing the corporate ladder, young entrepreneurs and then there’s the socialite hell-bent on making a name for herself. Tristen plays Vince, a 50-year-old, can’t get right uncle. With an odd 90s throwback fashion sense he’s striving to make a name for himself as a DJ who can’t help but get frustrated with the younger generation. He takes his game serious. Turntables, a healthy vinyl collection, and synthesizer; he takes the craft seriously, but his old soul and style is outdated, and he’s having trouble letting it go.
We got a chance to speak with Tristen about BIGGER and Insecure, check it out below!
The Knockturnal: What does the term BIGGER mean to you?
Tristen J. Winger: To me, BIGGER is synonymous with elevation and being the best and truest version of myself. It’s goal-setting and actively working toward a life of joy and love. We’re all meant for something BIGGER.
The Knockturnal: How did you feel coming back to shoot the show for a second season?
Tristen J. Winger: Working on BIGGER is a dream. I love our show and our characters, so coming back for a second season felt like a reunion. Our cast and crew were away from each other for so long, and I was excited to get back into Vince’s shoes and play clothes.

The Knockturnal: Can you tell us about what your character Vince is up to in the new season?
Tristen J. Winger: This season Vince is GLOWED UP! He’s taken his career to the next level, and he’s poppin’, which gives him time for a love interest, Shoshana, who is giving him a crash course in setting boundaries and speaking up for himself.
The Knockturnal: What do you think makes Vince so relatable?
Tristen J. Winger: Vince is the homie who loves to have a good time and hustles to make his dreams come true, and he’s relatable because we either know that person or we are them. I relate to Vince because I’m consistently confronted with an opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone. Often, I’m reluctant despite the chance of success on the other side of my fears. We all know what that looks and feels like.

The Knockturnal: You’re also in Issa Rae’s Insecure, how has it been working on the show?
Tristen J. Winger: Working on Insecure was a dream because it’s the first time I’ve seen a show about South Central that isn’t about drama, trauma, and violence. I was born and still live in South Central LA, and Insecure highlights our neighborhood for all of its rich culture, hidden gems, and beautiful people. As Thug Yoda, I’m proud to represent my neighborhood.
The Knockturnal: What’s coming next for you?
Tristen J. Winger: Up next you’ll hear my voice in a few scripted podcasts and video games and my fingers are crossed for BIGGER season three!
